Amiga record label

Did you know there was an eastern German (communist) record label called Amiga way before the Amiga Computers?

Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga_(record_label)

The German Wikipedia article is more comprehensive:

Depending on where you search they show up in the results. Search for Amiga books on Amazon and there they are
Can be a bit confusing at first, when you see the pictures and expect something about computer.

I see Amiga Records on Bay occasionally, mostly western acts having their music being taken across the Berlin wall. Can't recall seeing Lionel Richie's old band, but I'll look out for them. I wonder if the restaurant serves Dizzy Rancheros?

Wouldn't that be 'dead and split open Dizzy Rancheros'?

Yeah, when I've seen such a record on some local market the temptation to buy one was strong in me and I barely coped...

How did "Amiga Schallplatten" not want money from Commodore for using their brand?

Different sector. A brand applies to a sector and computers and records aren't the same sector.

You can have more than one company with the same name/brand if their purposes are different

I could open and register a company called "Amiga" today for developing and selling Bird-Feeding machines ... well, if there isn´t one yet, didn't check

Eastern Europe under communist rule was not big member of IP market - it was difficult to protect own assets in western world if you steal lot of things from west...
And as TCD wrote - different part of market also word 'amiga' is common in latin word - it could be difficult to prove unique ownership to word - perhaps logo, other graphical signs but probably not word itself.
