A1020 service/parts manual?
Are there anyone knows of a service/parts manual for the A1020 5.25" floppy drive?
(In particular a name/number for the pin that the closing handle is attached to.) |

The drive mechanism won't be covered in the A1020 service manual (if it exists). Looking at pictures of the front, the Commodore 1571 drive may well have used the same models of drive mechanism though, so you could try to find a cheap used/broken one of those to salvage parts from.

Thx. I knew it is an Alps, it seems identical to a 1.2M DS/HD model from pictures I have googled.
I have two other drives that uses similar handles, but they are different makes and have totally different pin sizes. (One waiting for an older pc with a MK3 Catweasel and the other is a borked A8 XF551.) Even finding a broken 5.25" is hard. I was hoping there was a slight chance the pin had a part number that could be ordered somewhere. (And to top it off it is a 110V unit but I route out a standard 4-pin 5/12V connector to what used to be an external DAT enclosure that feeds it juice.) --- Anyone know how close it is to a 1571? I have at least found a part number for 1571 "Disk Eject Lever C 252050-01" but that might only be the plastic end part as I saw in a German parts list it was simply listed as "knob". Just saw a picture of a 5.25" disk on an Amiga yesterday and was told about the A1020. I understand that it offered 440k of space? Was any software for the Amiga distributed on 5.25"?

No, it was strictly for file exchange with PCs.
