I still have my MU100R module that replaced the DB50XG I mentioned earlier. It's 32-part timbral with two midi inputs. One MIDI input from the Amiga, a second one from a controller for live control.
It has AD inputs and that has allowed me to use Paula with filters and FX again but there was something special about the old filter I was using. You can get close to how it sounded or maybe it's nostalgia telling me that it's purely digital processing just wasn't the same. |

Retrospectively, I was disappointed, but at the time I was loved it:
1. When I installed a hard disk, it was revolutionized my computing experience. The PCs at school had a hard disk, but were slower to boot and I software available rubbish 2. Getting an accelerator and more RAM, which only added to that. Sure those were expansions, but both were more expensive and added to the overall footprint of the machine, and they went inside the A1200. It was the design and potential of the expansion options that left me hanging on in there with the A1200 as my primary computer until around 2001 Its a shame Commodore and add-on manufacturers didn't make more use of the PCMCIA slot, and give us drivers for a wider array devices. It was definitely a forward looking move for Commodore to include it |
