Amiga Shortcuts for iOS/iPadOS/macOS
Hey hey
I have released a set of useful shortcuts that can be used to remotely control your Amiga from your Mac, iPhone or iPad. All of these devices ship with the Shortcuts app. You can learn about it here: https://support.apple.com/en-au/guid...ts/welcome/ios These scripts require your Amiga to be connected and have amigasshd running. AmigaSSHd is included in the AmigaSSH package here http://aminet.net/package/comm/net/amigassh. I start up amigasshd as part of my s:Network-Startup script so it is always running. You can run the shortcuts either from the Shortcuts app, or you can add them to your Home screen or ask Siri to launch them. On macOS, you can also find the shortcuts by clicking on the Shortcuts button on the top menu bar. For shortcuts that accept text input, you will also find the relevant shortcuts in the Share menu when you share text. For example if you are in Safari and see some text you want copied to the Amiga's clipboard, simply select the text and in the text selection menu that pops up, tap the right arrow button a couple of times until you see the "share" option. From there you will see the option to copy the text to the Amiga's clipboard. If you are launching a shortcut on its own, ie not from within the context of the share menu, then the shortcut will pop up a text box where you can type in the text. Shortcuts can also be automated, for example you can have a shortcut run every morning at 10am or have a shortcut run when you receive a text message from your mother. NOTE: There seems to be a bug in amigasshd which causes SSH connections to randomly refuse to connect. Just keep running the shortcut until it works. For me it's usually a 50% chance of it not connecting so you shouldn't have to reattempt it more than 3 or 4 times although one time it required about 10 attempts. Make sure you keep checking for version updates to AmigaSSH since this bug may get fixed in a later version. Here is the list of shortcuts. When I make more I will add them to this list. When you download a shortcut it will sync across all your Apple devices so you only need to get each shortcut once. When you install a shortcut for the first time it will ask you to fill out the necessary connection details which are hostname/ip, port, username and password. It will remember these settings but you can also manually edit them later. You can also extend shortcuts as you please with your own code. If you end up breaking a shortcut, you can just download it again from this page. Feel free to use these shortcuts as a base to create your own shortcuts. If you make any cool ones, share them in here so that others can use them too. ****************************************************** Restart Amiga https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/779...1a7fd6b92764c2 Reboots your Amiga Copy Text to Amiga Clipboard https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/110...71e2b38bc77a68 Copies text to the clipboard on your Amiga. The text is provided either from the share menu or user input. Prerequisites:
Make the Amiga Talk https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/f59...30de186351dac3 Makes the Amiga speak aloud text. Prerequisites:
If you don't have these, they are bundled in AmigaOS 1.3 and AmigaOS 2.0.x (you cannot use 2.1 because the speech libraries were removed after version 2.0.4). Each one of the 2 versions of narrator.device has a different voice, so copy over the version that sounds better to you. Run Script on Amiga https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/664...c7ea3833939f03 Executes an AmigaDOS (not ARexx) script on the Amiga. The contents of the script is provided either from the share menu or user input. Last edited by Nightfox; Yesterday at 17:27. |

That’s great. Shortcuts are really cool on iOS(and MacOS)
“Copy Text to Amiga Clipboard” Shortcut does not work for me though. But if I replace this line: printf "Combined Text" | clip STORE with this one: clip STRING="Combined Text" STORE then it works. Did I miss something? On Amiga side(A1200, OS3.2) I only started amigaSSHd, and put clip in c:. It is now really easy to copy and paste one line text, like in AmigaGPT where you have to put very long OpenAI API key. What about files? Can you make a Shortcut to send any file from Files(app) on my iPhone to any drawer on my Amiga? |

Thanks for that. I guess that command didn't work for everyone. I did it the first way because that should be able to make it work for more than 1 line of copied text. I am pretty sure I had it working on my end. Well anyway, I have updated the shortcut with your command instead and replaced the shortcut URL to the updated one.
As for files, hmm, I'm sure there's a clever way to do it. Can't think off the top of my head of a good clean way of doing it yet. I'm definitely sure it'll be possible though. Maybe someone can think of a good way of doing it and share the shortcut in here? |
