I remember reading "The Dark Wheel" when I finished I was ready for my space journey.
The wire framed GFX was filled by my imagination.

Hmm, not sure about printed manuals, but I vividly remember the smell of opening (removing the plastic) a new ten pack of SKC 5 1/4" floppy disks for the C64 (1541), some unique mix of chewing gum and roses!

I'm not talking about the Amiga specifically, but I really miss those old manuals inside the boxes of console games. They were great to pass the time, or during those bathroom sessions when I ran out of batteries for my Game Boy

Another book/manual sniffer here. Ringbound manuals are great I agree and seem to last longer as there is no stress on the spine every time you flatten it. Digital hardly ever gets read but when you do need to find something it is easy to search.

Yes, sometimes manuals are awesome, E-ink readers sometimes help but few of them are color. That said color seems to be slowly creeping into more and more e-ink devices.

Imagine being banned from bookstores and libraries because you just go there to sniff them. Perhaps there is some kind of Wes Anderson movie in there.

Hey! We've got an addiction to sniffing books, what's so bad about that?

Sniffing stuff is a long term memory trigger.

I'm just saying, smell processing happens in a part of the brain strongly coupled to long term memory. Smells trigger deep memories and nostalgia.

Smelling some of the food being prepared at my kids primary school can take be back 40 years in an instant and I'm literally there, for a moment (specifically it's a gravy smell. I hope to God the rest of the food is better!)
