In short..

Tell me you've never made a game without telling me you've never made a game.

For most musicians several beers* will do

*classical musicians often go for wine.

They haven't asked for money yet, but they've been asking for attention, applause, compliments, etc.

So I feel justified asking if they're serious about developing Metro Siege or not, because all we get is an occasional update from them saying, "Hey... not much has been done lately, but we'll hopefully be getting back on track with development!"

If you don't like the development model then get them a publisher, and if they start missing deadlines then you can complain about the lack of professionalism

And here's something you've missed:

You see, a company providing funding isn't always necessary in this day and age. When developers are serious about something, they can turn to other sources such as crowdfunding. The devs are serious about DaemonClaw, hence the crowdfunding campaign.

The devs are NOT serious about Metro Siege, therefore no crowdfunding campaign, no money, and no interest in timely development.

I would never waste my time trying to get them a publisher. They're a scatterbrain bunch, not able to focus on a project to get things done.

Then don't. Also post in the Metro Siege thread and stop your off-topic posts here.

A 3-level demo after five years, and you're ecstatic about that?

You've got low standards. As do most Amiga fans. That's one of the reasons why the platform fell behind in the late 80's and early 90's, while other platforms surged ahead brilliantly.

Any money you send them will go towards DaemonClaw and the other projects that they're prioritizing over Metro Siege. They ain't motivated to work on Metro Siege no matter how much beer money you send their way.

Not a complaint per se. I'm not yearning for Metro Siege, so I don't care that it'll never be released. Plenty of great games being completed for various other platforms to keep me satiated.

But definitely criticizing the Metro Siege devs for their lack of professionalism.

I like how you are willing to have vague arguments with everybody else here, but somehow keep silent regarding my specific query about the source of your wild claim that the devs "been asking for attention, applause, compliments".

Says it all, really.
