WipeOut Rewrite warpos
Late to the party but here it is some beta:
Movie and background menu fails the image scaling due to Voodoo texture size limitations but at least something is showed (gotta figure out that). Fullscreen seems to be slower than windowmode and has some quirks. Just place data game on a wipeout/ directory and it is recomended to set right at the beginning the keyboard settings as seems to not be cached the first time. -? For options. Not joy/gamepad support at this moment. Code is the nowadays Wipeout-R repo with the Dreamcast/Beworld changes for opengl and Arczi sound mods (game only uses SDL1 for audio). |

It running ok in UAE AmigaOS4 apart from usual ppc emulation speed issues)
Not so well on my slow Amiga. BlizzPPC 040/25 603/175, Mediator + Voodoo3 but its a great start . AHI struggles and quickly dies maybe due to context switching or buffering issues. After about 30 seconds or so the level just turns black and cant continue although the game is still technically running. [ Show youtube player ] Classic mediator/voodoo doesnt appear to be supported in AOS4 since update 1 so I cant test there. One day I'll put the BVision back in. I own an A1200T Blizzard PPC 240/060 + BVision.
Is the warpos executable compatible with my setup ? Or needs it a Voodoo 3 card with Mediator ? Many thanks. |

Running on a Prometheus with P2 PCI card. Sadly the P2 driver is showing all kinds of artifacts and is crashing. This is a driver issue, not the game.

@DanyPPC
I don't know of any weird code or opengl function in this game that favours one or other gfx card, besides support for textures > 256x256, that I had to touch for Voodoo. Try it. The funny bouncings that ship does with low cpu's setups don't happen with bigger ppc btw. And no, the fact that original Wipeout2097 warpos should run good with a minimal blizzardppc doesn't mean that Wipeout (older game) has to run better as it's an interpretation of the psx sources out there for a modern pc. This version running on Morphos G4 exceeds more than 250 fps in some places. Edit: Now Hedeon ruined my comment |

If you can pinpoint the errors in the driver by just screenshots, I'll be happy to provide them. I see them in more demos so it is driver issue. But maybe that is not for this thread.
It works fine on my Radeon. |

The first 2 pictures are the expected without a proper scaling for the movie/background textures.
The 3rd I don't see exactly what points to ? Ship missing some triangle ? |

It is missing triangles, yes. But maybe I can show better examples, not from WipEout. I'll send you something by mail.

I'm very happy that We have new game, and it is RACE.
I love race games, but on WarpOS we don't have too much this genre (Payback, Wipeout2097?). So I thought about new levels for Wipeout 2097, but now it never mind. Graphic quality (textures, geometry, explosions) in this port (in my opinion) looks better than Wipeout2097. The physics of movement is litle worse than physics in Wipeout 2097 (newer game). The game look and run exactly the same like this port: https://phoboslab.org/wipegame/ In my opinion, port on WarpOs is more responsive and more comfortable to playing than this WEB version BIG THANK YOU Cowcat Little help: - playing in Windowed mode is fater than FullScreen - for best performance set AHI to 8BiT Paula DMA - game support screen/window 16:9 aspect ratio too Last edited by BULI; Yesterday at 12:13. |
