In regards to the Amiga, everybody wants "the impossible", but no one seems to have the time to do it...

As far as music, I agree it could be a cd32 game. Like Xenon 2 CDTV, it means you have full CD audio and still two channels for sound effects. It's even possible to emulate a virtual CD drive, by mounting an .ISO on workbench, for HDD installation. That way, you can have many of the remixes from Out Run 2 instead, or have the user select their own music. Plus you dont have to worry about interrupts to play music and SFX together. Just ideas..

A quick update.

DJ Metune sent over all the SFX, the voice samples are in place now.
The engine sounds from Ferrari and traffic require more work.

Until now everything has been running from HD.

I have been working on the floppy images, and code related to it.
Packing/unpacking, boot loader, custom memory manager etc.
Some code can be reused from previous projects, but a lot has to be done from scratch.
It will probably end up at 3 floppies. I haven't done multi floppy games before, so that's a first :-)

Still many things to do, don't take the above as a sign that everything is ready to put onto floppies.

Great stuff. Is there any chance of a short playable demo at some point?

Ahh don't sound so negative mate, we all appreciate the work everyone does releasing games for out beloved Amiga, and we all realise its work done in your free time which can be minimal with family etc.

We all very much appreciate your works and the effort/sacrifices involved.

Thanks for the support.
Summer time is "low season", progress slower than beginning of the year.

I've really enjoyed following the progress in this project. OutRun was a favourite arcade machine of mine, the accomplishments so far are immense. Always happy to beta test (wink-wink) - seriously loving your work and can't wait to see the final item. Enjoy!

Cheers, man.
My favourite as well. Finishing it in front of a packed arcade was epic back in the day :-)

I begin to wonder if the game engine could eventually be tweaked to redo Chase HQ on Amiga? Probably require a lot of tweaking but the road routines seem fairly similar, with split paths to.
