Sim City 2000 problem

Hi all, I hope this is an ok place to ask this. I am having trouble getting SimCity2000 to even start on my A1200. I have tried a few ADFs and IPFs and all of them do the same thing. After installing correctly and launching it shows 'Loading SimCity2000' in the workbench title bar and then disappears and nothing else happens. I have tried holding shift key when launching and also booting in different video modes (PAL/NTSC) but still the same. I saw somewhere a link to the grandis.nu ftp for a file called 'ftp://ftp:amiga@grandis.nu/Commodore_Amiga/Game/CleanHDInstalls/SimCity2000_HDInst_AGA_De_0575.lha' but I cannot find this in the ftp site (perhaps an old link?). Does anyone know where I could get a working version of this game??

Hi. This thread might be better served in the support/support.Games section.

If the game has difficulty opening a window or screen it could be your display settings or scandoubler monitor etc settings?

Those IPF images work for me (tested with amiberry, running ClassicWB-P96)

At first start after installation, the title pops..

What are the specs of your A1200?

still gutted when it does work we cant use better screens than the default, esp when trying to RTG it, it can work but the window drag is locked to a default max vertical size, lets you scale smaller tho, think the news paper portion of the game also goes all solid black for me and i cant read shit.

Agree with the question about the specs of the A1200 - I remember buying Sim City 2000 when it first came out, and I had to wait for my brother to get an 8MB Fast RAM card for his A1200, because it needed more than 2MB to run....

If you are still on a vanilla 2MB machine, that would explain it..
