I mean I tend to avoid Linux because I'm too dumb to use it but if it has all the necessary emulators etc it might be exactly what I need.

Hes just scaring you. You wouldnt even know its linux, its all joypad based. It has nice clear and easy to use menus. Plus data partition is readable in windows. So if you want to add stuff, you can easly. A windows based one, which is also good, is emudeck for windows. I used to use that on my deck before switching to Batocera. Emudeck setup everything for you, it uses emustation which as already been mentioned. |
