If the 2nd save is connected by name with the original file and the disk drive in which it was inserted, the moment the original file is ejected from that disk drive, that connection disappears, so there is probably something else wrong here!? (layman's thinking) --------- The next thing... I found one problem in the "Image geometry" tab in the "Scaling" section! It seems that Scaling is not fully separate from C64 and Amiga, because some parts behaves globally. If I apply "crop window" when in Amiga mode and then switch to C64 mode, I see the same changes there as well, and vice versa. Shouldn't each mode remember the window size settings for itself!? @StingRay
In demozoo they wrote "Amiga AGA - Demo" so I took it from there. Correct, seems this is a party version that has some planar artifacing on the Ham-6 Kefratraz bars and in the final version this should be fixed! (but where is the final version!?) |

In general, the preview for the C64 makes much more sense than for the Amiga. Many Amiga games show an empty preview. (NDOS) So it's very important to split this option between the C64/Amiga and create another option: "Turn off software preview" or better the following selection for Software Preview: "deactivate", "in the File dialog", "in the Software window" (formerly alternative preview) I guess many deactivate them then only for the Amiga. On Windows, the new file dialog (from Win Vista upwards) does not support complex widgets (such as the preview listbox). This means that only the old file dialog variant can be displayed with the preview. It doesn't look as modern as you would expect it to be in File Explorer. If you switch to the alternative software preview, you can see the difference. That would be one more reason to decide against a software preview for the Amiga, at least in the file dialog. I will soon rebuild it and move it to the cores. In this context, the setting of the font size preview will also be moved to the cores. The two settings here refer to the font size of the preview in the File Dialog and the Software Dialog. |

(04) Old School (Demo) by New Generation Crew --> http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=16444
This demo is behaving a bit strangely! Although the site says it is for ECS Chipset, nothing will be displayed after the rainbow part, i.e. click on the LMB. If run on WinUAE in A1200, then it will work, although the mouse image will be a bit strange, i.e. not as shown in the link picture. Tested in Denise with A500 1MB Chip RAM. EDIT: On Demozoo and Pouet says Amiga AGA!!! (So while it seems to work partially, it probably isn't for ECS.) Last edited by amilo3438; 28 June 2024 at 19:23. |

added IPF overlap emulation: fixes Titan. I (re)checked all IPFs that were reported as incorrect (fixed) in the past. All newly inserted floppy disks are not write-protected. That might not have been the best idea. I stumbled across a few games while testing, which therefore do not load and give no indication that the write protection is the cause. e.g. Battle Chess (Amiga), Bounty Bob (C64). It is now rebuilt in such a way that the last write protection setting of the user is remembered and used again. (C64/Amiga) |

Great, so I'll continue testing!
------------ EDIT: New finding... If C64 core is disabled from options/settings/generic/selection of cores and only Amiga core is left... if now drag'n'drop a c64 disk on amiga screen power button it will open C64 mode but without showing it on top menu!? (so no options visible for C64 even it works) This is also true vice versa! Last edited by amilo3438; 28 June 2024 at 20:07. |

Turrican 3 (1993)(Renegade)[2633] ... During loading it says: serious disk error! (not in WinUAE)
PS. I'm sure I've already tried it in one of the previous nightly versions without problems! |

if a track with a different length (also what the Amiga can write) is saved, I have set the default length as soon as the controller starts a writing operation. With Turrican 3, however, this happens without the FIFO being filled and thus never really anything is written. So the default length must not be set here. nightly: fixed |

Vortex (1988)(Visionary Design)(US)[1412] ... Stops in PAL mode before entering into game! (works in WinUAE) (EDIT: A500 ECS 1.3 512 Chip + 512 Slow)
PS. In NTSC mode works fine! EDIT: Also in A500 OCS 1.2 512 Chip works fine in PAL! ------------- Wild Streets (1990)(Titus)[1678] ... In game left part of screen glitches if ECS! (same in WinUAE) Last edited by amilo3438; 02 July 2024 at 20:34. |

File Dialog Preview settings are now located under Software for the respective emulators. Amiga is preset so that no dialog appears. For the "Software Dialog" setting, the modern File Dialog can and is used on Windows. The preview will then be displayed in the Software window instead of in the File dialog. In addition, as with C64, the disk label is now displayed in the first line of the preview, if available. |

Perhaps as a suggestion to differentiate it from the rest: Label: 'disk name' I.e. if the disk label is Workbench1.3 to be: -> Label: 'Workbench1.3' (Edit: Maybe inverse, similar to C64!) -------- EDIT: When turning on fast-forward the shaders disappear from the screen and come back when turned off!? Is that expected or a bug? Last edited by amilo3438; 04 July 2024 at 18:49. |

Z-Out (1991)(Rainbow Arts)[0609] ... In the title screen the bottom text missing last line if ECS! (same WinUAE)
PS. That day came after 6 months of testing... today I finally finished testing the games! |

gratz amilo for your testing session of 6 month!
lame question but for c64 and amiga , aspect ratio is accurate with crt tv option? |

Wild Streets, Z-Out : same behaviour on real ECS hardware Vortex: Copper bug Copper strobes itsself (list 2) in 312/226 (shortline) vblank copjmp strobes in 0/2, results in both cop ptrs are ored together. that shouldn't happen but it happens in Denise OCS/ECS. In OCS cdang prevents the worst, so it works "accidentally" fixed: cop ptr 2 is assigned and strobe is cleared in cycle1 (not a copper cycle, dont do scheduled Copper DMA but steals it from CPU/Blitter ... but seems to do some internal stuff like in this case) EDIT: add disk label prefix but background color is same like other entries. First I need to implement coloring of single listbox entires instead of the whole box. In C64 preview label, the inverse coloring belongs to text font. stuff like this takes some time, because I need to do it three times: WinApi, GTK (Linux), Cocoa (macOS) |

But interestingly, when I click the mouse on the label it becomes inverted! So I wonder how it works then!? @sink Well, PC and amiga screens don't have the same pixels, amigas are a bit wider, so that complicates things a bit. CRT TV + integer scaling should give the correct aspect ratio, which doesn't look bad if linear interpolation is on, otherwise use native mode. EDIT: Try this... In Amiga Image geometry tab enable: In Crop border... (x) Crop all sides equally and maintain display ratio (4) ... and move Left slider to 1px In Scaling... (x) Native (2) (or CRT TV (1) to compare) resolution: 765 574 , then do Apply and crop window In C64 Image geometry tab enable: In Crop border... (x) Crop all sides equally and maintain display ratio (4) Edit: Use Monitor (1) instead! ... and move Left slider to 4px In Scaling... (x) CRT TV (1) (or Native (2) to compare) + integer scaling resolution: 765 574 , then do Apply and crop window In Presentation tab / Overview you can enable /disable linear interpolation. (best test is when is disabled but for C64 this is not necessary) And in Options tab do Save Preferences! (to remember the changes) Last edited by amilo3438; 05 July 2024 at 20:50. |

I need to implement this new feature one time and then it's usable for all other (future) situations, where a different row color is needed. Quote:
to get a both together you would need a really high resolution to get non square pixel by a lot of square pixels |
