Tennis! Best Retro Tennis games?

It's that time of year - anyone recommend any good Retro Tennis games any platform obviously including Amiga.

I've been playing Super Tennis SNES - it's ok but.....

Next gonna try Mario Tennis N64
Super Tennis Champs Amiga

I seem to remember a good one on GameBoy?

All of the Mario Tennis series, from GBC-on, are very good. Lots of shot selection with the two buttons and difference between single/double press, etc.

for the Amiga the best tennis game is Great courts 2
for the spectrum is Match point

for other systems the best is surely Virtua Tennis 2

For Amiga my favorites are "Advantage Tennis" and "Pro Tennis Tour 2" (Great Courts 2).

I bought Super Tennis Champs but it turned out to need more than 1Mb memory (or 1Mb chip RAM possibly?) despite the box not saying so - the last new game I bought, and I think the moment I knew it was over. I've tried it on emulation (which ironically does work in 1Mb chip RAM only) but need to put more time into it, it's tricky. That and Pro Tennis Tour 2 / Great Courts 2 are probably the best on the Amiga? Maybe Advantage Tennis if you can master the controls?

Super Tennis on the SNES I enjoyed, would like to play that again. Mario Tennis I don't think I've experienced, obviously not aimed at cynical middle-aged guys but I'm sure I could get something from it.

Pro Tennis Tour 2 is my fav. I think it still holds up against the modern games as well.

Match Point on ZX Spectrum: my first sports game ever. Still extremely playable.

Final Match Tennis, no doubt. Was the best Tennis for years before Virtua Tennis became the best one.

Advantage tennis was nice at the time.
Unfortunately, my original copy had a bug that the game would crash each time i would play versus n°1 player. So to become n°1 i had to win all other tournaments when n°1 wasn't in finale.
Besides, i lent my copy protection sheet to a dude who lost it. It wasn't possible to photocopy it because of the paper and ink they used. Fortunately i copied by hand it before but only the first 16 lines out of 24.
So i had only 2 chances out of 3 to be able to play my game when copy protection was asked for.
One never forgets such a pain.

I quite like Centre Court Tennis on the N64

There is a video of 7 good GBA ones

There are a few for the Amiga so worth trying them and seeing what you think

https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/lis...b_genre=Tennis lists a few

I like Virtua Tennis and quite enjoyed Top Spin too.

Oh, if you are talking any platform then Mario Power Tennis on the GBA is just brilliant. It has a nice story mode with light rpg elements.

I think Super Tennis on SNES is the best Tennis game I've personally played. Easy to get into and just very good

Tennis Cup is a game I played loads of on Amiga and while it's seemingly a bit difficult to read the ball, it soon clicks and is a satisfying unique experience

Not as old as some of these but you can never discount Virtua tennis. One of my favorites and it includes a bowling minigame
