I copied it in LIBS but i’m pretty sure SnoopDOS tried to find in directory or LIBS (when failed).
I can try tomorrow and report back though. I still don’t think it’s bad to have it under LIBS tbh (it’s not ReqAttack in case you wondering) but just a library and that’s why Aminet has this version (only with the library for runtimes that need it, plus many header files etc for developers). If you need a more minimalistic approach you can use just the Wide version (http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/Reqtools-Wide) that has only the readme and library but has double width for requesters). I tried it and works just fine |

But both versions you linked are basically just updates for http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/ReqToolsUsr
And that comes with a Preference program. It's no big deal but I'm still hesitating to partially add something just because it's needed. But I guess it's OK if I can keep it in the IconSaver directory and put a note in the docs that people should also get the Usr package. |

Yeah but you don't need to install ReqTools (Commands, Prefs etc).
Just the library as it's the dependency of rt_RequestDevice and that's all I definitely understand your PoV but you can't do much about it. |

Well, I could just write it in the docs that people need reqtools. Then it's not my decision if they only want to install the library or the whole package.
But fine, I have added the Wide version and put a note in the docs. Luckily it works to just have the library in the main folder. No need to assign anything or something. And I added the LhA check to PositionSaver, so that there won't be any issues when someone managed to get the folder without LhA but without the dependencys already extracted. I also added an extra requester to notify that IconPos gets copied to SYS:C and not in the IconSaver directory. Just for the people who don't read docs. |

New archive works without a single issue mate even on stock OS without anything.

I think the only requirement is at least a 68020. As far as I know reqtools needs it. That might be worth looking into at some time. Maybe I can use an older version that works on a 68000, but I have to check if the other tools don't need a 68020 as well. But I currently don't care.

Yes 68020 is needed for this version of reqtools.library.
Just because OCD... I just tried setting up a stock OS3.1 in WinUAE on A600 @ 68k with a bit of RAM and I got an error when the script tried to run rt_ReqDevice (I got a suspend/reboot requester). So after reboot, I replaced reqtools.library on the PROGDIR with the original one from the archive: http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/ReqToolsUsr and your scripts work correctly mate So I can clearly say, that no other tool needs 020 |

Nice. Maybe I'll replace it when I'm really bored. But for now I'm back to work on something else.

If anyone is still interested in this, here is a new version which mainly adds a new script called IconMerger. It's purpose is to combine Planar (old) and Color (new) icons. Which means, it is possible to get a good looking Workbench if, for example, you decide to disable Color Icons on a newer Workbench or have a shared drive.
I recently was messing around with 3.9 and one of its many flaws are the GlowIcons and the inconsistency of the planar icons. And I knew that PeterK has the IconMixer script in the IconLib package, but it felt a little bit tedious using it. So, I tried to make use of the archives created by IconSaver. And it turned out to be pretty easy to do. If anyone will give it a chance to look at and finds any problems, just let me know. Although the other two scripts haven't changed much, just some clean up/minor changes, I leave the old version up in this post above. To explain the new version number: It is IconSaver v13, PositionSaver v10 and IconMerger v01 |

Cheers for the updates, deffo gonna use this so i dont have to reinvent the wheel when i was attempting something similar and i thought at first i only needed something a bit more basic but its turning out to not be that way in the end, im better off using your older/better/more refined solution, cheers again. Also, looking a few posts up, the Widescreen bodged reqtools i compiled/uploaded uses 68020 because its based on the newer/bugfixed ARos backport and i believe that introduced the 68020 requirement. |
