Furia EC020 Rev 3 compatible with mSATA SSD?

I'm thinking of getting a Furia EC020 Rev 3 for my A600, but I use a Transcend mSATA ssd module like below:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...KL5A1OLE&psc=1

I know that Furia seems to be particularly fussy about CF cards, I assume due to data transfer speeds, but would they have any issues with SSD modules?

Do you mind me asking how you connect the ssd to the A600 IDE please?

I would have thought you would need a buffered interface of some sort?

Just using this IDE Adapter with JM20330 Serial ATA Bridge Chip:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...PPGDEDK7&psc=1

and here is an example of fitting it into an A1200:

they are more reliable than CF and SD cards, I've had one in my 1200 for 3 or 4 years with no issue.

the only trick is you must have an adapter that can be configured to receive 5v, so that it passes it through appropriate voltage regulator bringing it down to 3.3 for the SSD chips

Well I can confirm that the Furia with 14.1 firmware works well with 128gb mSATA drive using IDE Adapter noted above and Amiga OS 3.1.4.1

I've tested with partitions up to 6gb so far.

My only concern is checking the temps and the mSATA enclosure is getting up to 60 degrees Celsius

the back of the case shows where I've drilled holes in the white plastic casing to try and release the heat a little - the hottest point is the voltage regulator which is to be expected I guess:

I've bought some mini copper heatsinks so I'll be attaching those soon. and probably drill even more holes so it can dissipate a little more.

I also noted the chips right above the PCMCIA slot get pretty hot, and they will be right below where my mSATA will rest, I never thought heat management would be a thing for Amiga's!

That's quite toasty fella.

Can you get it out of the plastic housing & get some active cooling blowing over the chips?

The furia is close by with a new noctua fan moving some air around, I think it'll be fine, I just get a bit obsessed that I'm going to damage vintage tech by overheating. but realistically it's only actually the regulator that getting hot, the SSD chip itself appears to keep a much lower temp, and once I add a heatsink to the regulator I feel that should be enough.

I believe throttling on these SSD drives is around 70C, and given it's never going to be in the slightest bit stressed it should not get any where close to that.

mostly I'm trying to protect against the voltage regulator failing and causing some other damage.

I've also added a few more holes in the enclosure:

and have some of these on their way:

Fully appreciate your passive attempt....

Stop the plastic enclosure & get a fan over the naked mSATA card.

What are your temps for that?

50c on the ssd chip itself after several hours of DirOpus extracting games library files.

It's too awkward ensuring the IDE controller is shielded from touching other metal parts/components without an enclosure. so it should be fine now now, but I'll keep an eye on temps.
