What's the best way to use a joystick with WinUAE on a PC?
As I understand it, there are 2 options - buy an adapter to use an older joystick with a PC's USB port, or buy a dedicated USB joystick. Having 2 buttons (maybe via a Megadrive controller, which I have) would be a nice bonus but isn't essential. What would people recommend?

When not playing directly with the keyboard, I use a PC/Console USB arcade joystick that I am very happy with.
It was recognised without any hesitation by WinUAE (first by Win7 and then by WinUAE) and it is possible to map the buttons to the wishes if game support multi-buttons. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php...24#post1225324 |

I am getting the 8bitdo c64 styled retro mechanical keyboard, you get a stick and two huge buttons with it which I will definitely be using for WinUAE

I love the 8bitdo controllers. I have two, but the one connected to my PC all the time is the Ultimate wireless one. Just brilliant. Makes my PC gaming feel so much more console like

The Retronic adapter looks good, that's closer to my realistic price range than the other suggestions. Does anyone know of any UK or at least European stockists though, if I order it from Canada 1/3 of the price will be shipping. I love the fact that it's "Using an ATMEL ATMEGA 328p microcontroller running at 12MHz" - i.e more than 50% faster than an entire A500....
