86box for Bridgeboard emulation?
Hi Toni,
A while back, you floated the idea of possibly switching the WinUAE Bridgeboard emulation to use the current 86box instead of the now-defunct PCem. I also read a thread on another message board from a few years back where you indicated that you didn’t think it would be worth the trouble, and that the improvements that 86box offers wouldn’t be all that relevant to the Bridgeboard emulation. What are your thoughts on this as of now? Are there any aspects of 86box that would be worthwhile to have in the BB emulation? I’ve heard of “improved accuracy” in the CPU and video emulation but don’t know how much of an improvement that would offer in this situation. If you think it’s worth doing and want to try, I’m on board to test it. |

(late answer, sorry)
There does not seem to be any really useful gains for bridgeboard emulation but video card emulation seems more advanced which is used for many RTG boards with SVGA chip. But things keep changing in 86box too much which makes merges annoying and painful. |
