Port to linux/mac?
Hi Toni, I and others that don't use Windows are missing out on the greatest piece of emulation software ever in history. We'd love it if we could get in on the action
What would it take to make this possible? Is there any conversation where we might be able to figure out a way to do this? FS-UAE was the best thing we had going for us but it was always lagging behind WinUAE, using the WinUAE cores anyway, and it seems like the developer has sadly disappeared So we are all left in a lurch. |

Yes, but that doesn't stop me from preferring a native version

linux and Winuae
AmiKit does and it uses Winuae. Just make sure that you don't have wine installed first as the installer will install it BUT it may be an older version of Wine. Just check with Jan @AmiKit.

Yeah, see, this is one reason why a native port would be so valuable - I already have Wine installed and use it for a number of applications, and I don't really want to remove it to install a specific version

While the native version would be preferred as pointed out, @cloverskull did you try running with Lutris or Bottles? You can pick different version of wine through them.

I don't think It is worth the effort when Linux has only the 3.x % of the users
also this is going to unconcentrate toni with more trouble also the name of the emulator is "WINUAE" which means "windows version of UAE" so it doesn't fit |

I admit I had no idea AmiBerry was for anything other than a Pi but so far so good with that as an option
It would be cool to have more WinUAE features but this works for me! |

pUAE works great through retroarch and is mostly insync with WinUAE, whats you're end goal of wanting a native port?
I have Linux installed on my Legion Go and puae works great. Last edited by Ian; 07 June 2024 at 13:53. |

Such as? Do tell ...I've been involved with amiberry for over a year now, interested in this sort of feedback...ie; what does winuae have, that you miss in amiberry? =)

I use WinUAE64 on Fedora 40/Xorg via Wine, and the better is to use WinUAE via Lutris.

As far as nice to have stuff, I'd love to see all the same hardware support as WinUAE. Ideally I can build my full Workbench installations in emulation but supporting as much hardware as I actually have. Things like accelerator cards, for example. Additionally I can't seem to find a way to add PPC? |
