I think the best thing to do is occasionally check the date of the file in that Google Drive folder. That's really the best indicator that an update has been made, and further details will be in the Build Log.

It'd save constantly bumping the thread for minor updates, but of course I'd post if anything major happened (can't think what though. I'm pretty happy with everything).

Anyway, I made a new build today that should make the game a teeny bit harder, so that's up now.

Thanks! Does it fix Belger being stuck off screen and only seemingly firing bolts (sound effects only) when player one is on the left hand side of the screen? He doesn't react to player 2's movements it seems! Is that the problem do you think?

Still gitching on Rolento sprite before genade throwing phase and an error requiring a core dump/restart during that fight! I doubt it's possible to get to the end on my setup at the moment.

I've also come across a bug where the level is looping back on itself at the end (the start of the level is inaccessible but cuts your play area down to half when fighting Edi.E for example). Maki also started glitching!

3rd playthrough today avoiding selecting Maki crashed loading the Rolanto lift stage! Shame!

I did select Haggar! Might just stick to Guy and Cody!

Nope crashed the same with Cody and Guy finishing the furnace level loading into the Rolento level! Annoying! I like how the enemies throw an early attack now though! It feels more like the arcade and less like a bully simulator!

Played with Haggar and Guy and made sure I was playing on a 7Mhz setup. Rolento still had graphical glitches but managed to get to the end! Then Belger refused to make an appearance again! Why oh why can he get stuck off screen?!!! Sad end to a great 2-player game on the 'miggy!

@haps

It's a fairly big bug for a player to invest the time to play through the entire game and to not be able to duel with the boss and see the credits! I am right to report it and it should be fixable!

You're certainly a dedicated game tester.

LOL

If playing games is "invest time" to you, you should probably just stop playing games.

Learn to code and fix the bug yourself, that's time better spent than whining and telling he needs to fix a bug just because you want him to do so.

It's of course much better to spent time whining about somebody whining

Thanks! I think it's an underappreciated service on this thread to be honest! It is just a glorified tech demo (however impressive) if it is impossible to play to the end consistently.

I'm guessing the issue is Belger is targeting the movements of Player 1 only so a 2-player game is breaking it! I think it would be safer to have Belger already in the corner suite of the hotel when you enter rather than have him enter (or not) from off-screen on the left! Like Edi.E's position really, just have Belger sitting there by the window on the right on entry!

In the original Amiga version the game would scroll to the left as well as the right so it wouldn't have been possible to get stuck even if Belger wasn't initially activated! You could just walk left and try again until he is triggered!

I just noticed the downloadable files were modified on 30th May! Does this update address the Belger bug?

Honestly, I think many of these issues would be fixed with just an AGA port

Yeah, the A600 with a 2MB chip ram expansion is a dubious target machine in my view! It is a proof of concept that the 1st gen OCS/ECS Amigas could handle Final Fight in all its arcade glory. An A1200 version could have been arcade perfect!

I'm positive that at some point Brick Nash will allow us to use the source code. At this point, an AGA version will be possible.

@AnimaInCorpore

...or if not arcade perfect, at least the A1200 AGA stock machine could provide a more sensible default setup than an A600 + 2MB Chip Ram Expansion!?! Maybe more of us could run it problem free if that was the case? Just saying.
