@Galahad/FLT You think you can get Switchblade & Shadow Warriors working with sfx and music at the same time, converting the music to cdda?

I would imagine that a better technique for games like that which have Amiga music OR sfx would be a replacement module player that (for faster processors) used software mixing to downmix to 2-channels? (Leaving 2-channels free for sfx)

I wonder if you could stream the audio data for two DACs from a file to stream the stereo audio via a hard drive for 2mb OCS Amigas. That was the idea I had back then as a teenager when I first experienced Amiga + HDD joy
Was not for this song/game but in general. Probably manage a 1mb machine with a simpler game with less graphic data needed resident in memory. I think the OCS machines do about 400-600kb per second? |

anything on this list would be great too
https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...46&postcount=1 there are a lot of opportunities like Cybernoid 2, maybe the whdload version (that uses the second firebutton to cycle weapons), with both music and sfx or Ninja Warriors |

At least one option will not be available in 60 or so days (and I should have checked if it was already on the ftp, but forgot)

is it weird that i would want a whdload version of R-Type that uses sampled soundtracks from the C64 version as an optional setting.

btw, as this kinda subs the default music for another track via whdload, is it possible for people to do almost the same thing but substitute a games normal music for a different music track of the same type which the game would play as normal?. Perhaps useful for decent games that have terribad music, allowing people to throw in a modern better remake or just something totally different, maybe even replacing sound effects?
Modern emulators have the ability to change graphics/audio/textures/etc on various games, this xenon2 music swap sounds like a sort of native variation of that, would be interesting to see what else can be hot-swapped. |

I tried running the xenon2beta files on Amikit and it, as you know, has corrupted graphics and it is only the intro screen and music stopping with "To continue you must register WHDLoad" . ?? My Whdload is registered. ?

This is a pretty awesome concept really. Too bad it has such a large memory requirement, but it will be nice playing it on an emulator at least. Apparently the similar Atari STE project does this kind of thing but streams directly off of a storage, with only a 1MB memory required, so I guess it is possible to do it.
