Hi Koobo!
Thanks for the update! It works very well, it's great! I noticed that it doesn't play: https://www.modules.pl/index.php?id=module&mod=3970. When playing https://aminet.net/package/mods/smg/ml-clap2rx (and other Musicline Editor files), the screen flickers. When playing MIDI files without having installed GMPlay or Timidity, a requester pops up asking for volume GM: or Timidity:, maybe HiP could just display "*** ERROR *** Skipping..." and move on to the next modules... At the beginning of playing MP2 and MP3 files, MuForce reports hits. When playing a VOC file, sometimes HiP just reports an "*** ERROR ***", sometimes it tries to play them. Then, "MuForce reports hits and HiP opens its requester "Unknow file format!". Cheers! Last edited by tygre; 03 March 2024 at 16:17. Reason: Fixing typo |

got an issue with HIP thought it was something i did..
took a mod file converted to P61 using amiga's P61con.. loaded mod in Hip.. plays ok. loaded P61 into Hip.. unknown format. tested with 6 others mods all which play in hip. yes convert with p61com and all unknown. tested the P61a mods in P61con and played ok tested the p61a mods in bfbplayer with the bfbp61,library and they play. tested the p61 via prowizard which says they are The player 6.1 mods. loaded up statram aka SD0.. and copied files into there thinking it maybe cause they where in RAM: no difference. reinstalled HIP with hip.groups in S: and retested and again it failed to play the p61 mods. screenshot.. same file loaded into HIP and BFBplayer.. Downloaded 2.45 of hippoplayer and those non working p61 files work. ok i had to rename hippoplayer.group to install the older one. But version 2.45 plays those files fine. so that explains it... do you remember which version of HIP was the last one..
I tested 245 and 246a..P61 working 247 required a different group doesnt work with newest.. so i have to look through the HIP updates.. 260 being the newest so p61 removed.. i have most of the versions.. never even crossed my mind you would remove any of the formats. I just updated thinking bugs where being fixed that you came across. i have 252-255, 250, 247, 245, in a folder on winuae i have the 246a.. or i can just use BFBPLayer with that extra library.. just thought it was weird.. even tested the P61 mods. with the pc XMPLAY with XMPlay MOD-packer plugin (rev.3)and they played ok.. Basically i thought i screwed something up.. No need to readd it.. i'll just go back to the HIP that played it.. when i can find out what the latest version was before removed. or use BFBplayer / P61con. Update: Hippoplayer 2.52 working.. 2.54 doesnt.. and 2.53 i cant seem to find the group file for it.. cause its not 2.52's or 2.54's Last edited by andy2004; 14 May 2024 at 17:43. |

I sent you a pm with a download link to a build where it is re-enabled, this was easy since the support was just configured away with a flag. |

Another minor update, version v2.61:
Not a lot of those around and some have timing issues with playsid.library unfortunately. 3SID song recommendations: Jammer's "Light Years" and "Melbourne Shuffle" Bonus 2SID song recommendation: Manganoid - Mahadeva Last edited by koobo; 29 May 2024 at 20:06. |

Nice update. Optimisation of the playSID.library is nice for them 68060 and C64 emulation.

Hi Koobo and all!
Thanks for the v2.61! It works very well, with the same "hiccups" as the previous version:
Enjoy the music! |

no idea how to reproduce it, been trying to trigger it deliberatly, but sometimes out of nowhere for whatever reason, sometimes my MP3's start having a slight crackle/distortion when its played part of it in the buffer as the repeat time for the crackle/distortion is the same. Once this weird noise appears, it stays there even if i swap to other mp3's, restarting hippo sometimes fixes that, other times ive had to reboot the whole system or change briefly to AmigaAMP.
What causes this? no idea, thought it was some particular mp3's but had it glitch seemingly at random and ive not actually had it glitch on the same mp3(s), so im kinda lost what causes it esp when it doesnt always happen. |

If the issue persists even after restarting hippo, this would point towards mpega.library being in some weird state. It is kept in ram once first loaded, until the next reboot. |

Sample buffer = 128k, mpeg quality ive tried low/med and hi, basically anything obvious, thinking it might be mpega related is why when the glitch happens id swap to AmigaAMP and play the same mp3 and id get no glitch with AmigaAMP which just confuses me more. It happens so infrequently its not a big deal its just annoying hearing a fizzle noise at some part of all the buffered audio and more annoying that i cant reproduce it even when i note/retry the same mp3's it has happened with only for them to play perfectly fine after a reboot. Only mentioned it here incase some1 else has had the issue and seeing nobody else mention it i kinda just didnt bother mentioning it, its happened for quite a few versions back, it easily could be emulation related as well, again not much help when i cant force it to happen. |
