FS-UAE Launcher 3.1.68 - Debian 12 - Gnome 43.9

Hello

I've moved over Debian 12 and I can't seem to get FS-UAE Launcher to work. I've downloaded the files from the FS-UAE website and extracted them to specified directories as instructed (as I've done many times before on Deb11/Ubuntu 22.04) copied the required files over (kickstarts etc). FS-UAE Launcher loads up fine. I log into OpenRetro, can see my games and configs etc but when I try to load a game it doesn't launch the FS-UAE screen. FS-UAE opens when clicked manually though.

Anyone had similar issues? any have any pointers?

Cheers
And

from here https://fs-uae.net/files/stable/3.0.0/

When screenblanker (dpms) is activated, I can't return to xfce (the screen remains black).

The fs-uae-launcher package has been dropped from Debian bookworm ; it hasn't been maintained. It should still work in Debian buster/bullseye...(there's lot of issues with the newer Qt/PyQt stuffs). It's likely a roll on effect from the fact fs-uae itself hasn't been updated for 18months +....

If you're open to trying alternatives, I'd suggest amiberry v6.3.0-preview

I went the route suggested by cgugl. Installed FS-UAE-Suite_3.0.0_Linux_x86-64.tar.xz and all seems to be well. It's a shame regarding fs-uae as it's a really nice bit of software.

Cheers

If you can get by with the old code that was about in 2019, good luck to you!

Me...I prefer a UAE engine based upon later winuae versions =)

Good call. Great emulator. Excellent version.

Plus it now supports WHDLoad directly. What more do you need?

When Amiberry-NG gets out into the wild, it'll be an even more replete bit of Amiga emulation kit for arm/x86/linux/macos platforms. The v5.7.0 release for lower powered Arm platforms is pretty good too, shares a lot of features with v6.3.0..

...I'm forever playing/testing with the GUI stuffs...

...I had a really nice pastel thing happening previously.. I've yet to find anything Amiga it couldn't really handle, in fact it's improved leaps&bounds on x86-64 since the advent of the v6.x.x branch.. it's actually been rather 'exciting' over the last few months =)
