There seems to be a lot of "whats the point of two amiga emulators when I only want one" ... in the world of Operating systems, this is same - ie look at windows, there is no competitiveness, therefore no advancing, look at gfx cards shibby! With WinFellow on track for being portable, theres a huge wave of possibility for ports!

if that makes no sense, it does - keep an open mind ... WinFellow has always been faster than WinUAE, especially on lower spec machines!

Winfellow status ?

How's WinFellow progressing? When will a new release be available?
I can run a500 games & demos with latest release at full speed on a PII (WinUAE needs a "Monster PC") :-)

I hope next WinFellow release will be as fast as the current one.

:-)
It is progressing, but not as fast as it could be, as not so many people are working on the project as there was back before the last official release.

However we're looking at a pretty damn fast, sturdy A500 emulator with improved support for many games.

Not sure on next official release, maybe this winter? Can't really tell, but I'm sure that Torsten will be able to fill us in nearer the release date

If you can't wait, ask carfesh or Worfje to be part of the beta tester team

I don't want to promise too much, but the current betas are nearing a state where we might consider a release, so it may well be there will be a new one even in this year

We didn't release until now since the current code contains material we consider highly experimental and which had certain flaws, as I'm sure our beta testers will be able to confirm

But there is work to improve those code pieces, and once they have been tested and corrected, we are all looking forward to a new release, so stay tuned.. We'd rather release something working and stable to the public, we have high expectations for the new release.

I sure hope WinFellow will be updated soon, I like it alot, and although my PC isn't too bad (P4 2.8) and can run WinUAE as well, I like WinFellow as I think it's pretty easy to use it. My current version is alpha v0.4.3 build 1, I don't even know if this is the latest version or not but I like it. The only bad thing I have seen so far is that it can't handle plasma effects in some old-school demos right, but that's it.

Hi !

As a betatester, I can tell you there are real improvements : games like Superfrog, Ugh ! or Tearaway Thomas are now fully playable ! There're a lot of other little improvements, too, but I won't be too precise on this point (the beta releases aren't public, and I think Carfesh and Worfje won't be happy if I reveal anything about their great work )
