Reset WinUAE without losing data

I have been googling it but it seems I am just not getting it. Can someone please explain how to reset WinUAE without losing anything from memory?

Let's say I want to, for example, rip some sound from a game etc.

Now when I reset it, the memory gets wiped clean and I have nothing.

Thank you.

In the 'Miscellaneous' panel you can save the state of the emulated machine (including memory) and load the next time you start WinUAE.

I don't know how I missed that, it will be handy with certain things, thank you.

But, it doesn't help with the way I intended. Now when I make something run that has no exit and save state, it just continues running where I left off when I load it again.

So if I want to get something from the memory, it is still impossible, as I can't exit the running program.

I tested this with a demo that has no exit.

I'm not sure what you want to do, but you can save the state uncompressed and load it into any application as a file.

It was my mistake that I didn't notice the pull-down selector when saving the file. So I just saved it as it was. Now I saved it uncompressed.

I guess I'm just a bit slow today.

It's a bit hidden I hope you can make it work that way.

Another way to have a look at the memory while WinUAE is running is to use its Action Replay functionality: https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=28473

Keyboard reset (ctrl+amiga+amiga) works like on real hardware. Memory is not cleared (unless some reset proof program was installed that does something)

GUI reset button always clears all memory.
