Blitz Basic Window Total
I've been working with Blitz Basic 2 lately. I started a project that has a lot of Windows. I noticed that I can use Windows 0-4, but if I go to 5 it crashes the program.
Is there anyway to increase the total amount of Windows you can use in a program? Or are we locked into those 5? |

You can increase the number of window objects. Open the compiler menu "compiler options".
In the area "object maximums" increase the maximum number of windows. |

Thanks for the help.
I found Windows under the options and bumped it up to 10. But then still had the same problem. I dug around some more and found that the GadgetList needed to be brought up to 10 also since I use Gadgets in every Window. |

If you enable the debugger when you run your code from the Blitz editor, it will catch these issues and tell you that you've exceeded the maximum object count and highlight the code position instead of crashing.

Thanks Daedalus,
Normally this is my very first advise :-) I do not remember well, but I thought the debugger is enabled by default in BB2 aswell? |

A quick test here suggests it is indeed enabled by default (in SuperTED anyway), but I'm assuming the OP isn't using it or it would have caught the problem.

I installed BB2 off the Ultimate CD, but I used the installer that came with the CD. So when I was looking through my copy of BB2, it looks like you need to load the Debug Module in order to get the debugger to work. But I don't see that software anywhere.
After some poking around, I found that I should be using ubbinstall.lha off aminet.net. Who knew? I guess if fixes install problems with the Ultimate CD, and the program looks different than what was loaded from the CD installer. This new version of BB2 uses a different palette, and there are a lot more menu options. And yeah, when you run it the debugger pops up in the background. |

Ah yes, the Ultimate CD has a buggy Installer script so you had an incomplete environment. Glad you're sorted now However, there's an updated version of the ultimate CD that you might like to look at. It includes a fixed Installer script, as well as the latest updates to all the various modules and libraries. You can download it here: http://ubb.plus/

Thanks. I'll have to look at ubb.plus. I'm running into Randomize problems now, and I wonder if it has to do with the install? I thought it could be the emulator.
