Floppy disk Claps...?

While browsing the Internet Archive (http://www.archive.org), I discovered the CLAPS project... apparently they team with the CAPS guys... Looks like software preservation is taken seriously by more people everyday!

I think this version is highly amusing.

How did you know anyway? Surely it would show "edited by fiath" if you saw it?

Okay, maybe I only amuse myself.

Yeah, basically it's a pretty badly kept "secret". What you see there is actually more of a preview. It's not ready yet, and there are some social/political/legal problems which need to be addressed before it can really get going. We could officially announce it, but we were hoping the effort would produce something a little more concrete first, rather than raise people's expectations while they wait ages before anything actually happens.

Basically the CLASP effort is a result of the Archive's successful campaign for excemptions to the DMCA. See here for more info:

I think it only show 'edited by blah' if somebody saw the msg before you got to edit it.

And i knew because the 1st msg thats posted before the edit is whats sent in the email notification.

Clever huh

Ah, I see. I didn't realise the actual message was sent in email notifications nowadays... I turned that feature off quite some time before the EAB upgrade...

Anyway...

I'm happy to read that they CO-OPERATE with CAPS!!
Imagine they'd planned to reinvent the wheel...!
Likewise, the latter phrase recalls that Gamebase64 (C64) too have already game images in their collection created from original (!) tapes, which inescapably must inclose a co-operation with Gamebase as well; otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.
