Amiga500 KS/WB 1.3 ide68k CF 4gb using FFS

The title resume pretty much what I'm trying to do. Although it dont mention that I have scsi.device 40.5 patched into ks 1.3 rom. I would prefer to use that 4gb CF card as a single partition using FFS. I'm trying that trick where you boot in WB 1.3 and use the Install disk from 2.04 to run HDToolbox and prepare the disk there. But the software only allow me to create 2GB Partitions. I was thinking about using modern version of partitioner from WB 3.#? to prepare disk but would that create incompatible configuration of FFS ? I often see people turn to PFS when doing that but I would prefer to avoid and keep thing simple only using FFS.


Have people been able to use (boot to is optional, but preferable) 4gb CF disk as a single partition on WB/KS 1.3? If yes, what version of FFS ?

This is a rather stupid description. What are the symptoms? What happens if you go beyond the limit?

I can create 10 GB and larger partitions with HDToolbox of 2.0. At 4GB however the display overflows and it starts at 0 again, but this does not mean the partition is small.

And you need to keep in mind that there is a 4GB harddrive size limit and many software products have issues with more than 2GB free space.

If you want a single partition why not just format it?

FFS has some limitations. What version of FFS are you using? You should also check whether newer versions of FFS will work on kick1.3
