RamseyConfig does NOT support using "Skip" mode (see previous posts on this thread). RamseyConfig simply reports the skip mode so users won't blame RamseyConfig for the instability or crashing problems. Last edited by SpeedGeek; 28 May 2023 at 16:20. |

Wanted to report back.
I have Burst, Page, 380, and wrap turned on my 3000D and it has been working perfectly. Thanks so much for this awesome program. |

Don't think it helps much with 4000's.
If a 3000D has an 030, DMAC 04, and 60 NS SC Zips... You get the most bang for the buck as they say. Fun fact, when the 4000-030 first came out, the 3000-030's just smoked them. Seagate IDE's were slow and twacky in the 4k, the 3000 had Quantum SCSI that was twice as fast and quieter. Ram access on the 4000 was slower than the 3000, zips were faster. I think the 030's in the 4000's were EC's and the 3000 had full 030's. The cost cutting at the end was just so sad. The 3000D was much better/faster than the 500/2000 and better in every way. The 4000D was as cheap as they could make it and slower than 3000. The 3000D had a scan doubler and could use standard VGA and the 4000 only worked with a few crappy monitors. I remember when we ran them side by side at the club when the first user bought the first 4000-030 in the area. He was pissed... Last edited by matt3k; 02 October 2023 at 02:15. |

@klx300r
I stand corrected, meant to say quieter. No real thwacking from the scsi. They just whined. Where the ATA just thwacked like no tomorrow. Quantum made really great Hard drives. Remember when I bought a faster scsi from them. I called support and they were super cool and helpful. The support guys loved the Amiga and had a 3000 in their department. Ahhh the good old days. |

So true. I bought my A3000T new from Creative in California at about the same time my friend bought his A4000D from the same place. I paid about $1200 and he paid about $2500. My 3000T works out of the box with just about any vga monitor and he was locked into the 1942/1950/1960 - none of those 3 monitors were very good choices in my opinion. I still have my A3kt - he sold his A4000 not long after he bought it for a big loss. He went to a PC and never looked back again. |
