The retail version date is 1989. 1991 is the budget release date.

So the TOSEC disks are all based on the budget release. Do we have any image of the retail release?

Hi,
I am writing an article for the Amiga Future about all the known Monopoly releases (commercial and PD) and I found it very strange that the Monopoly Leisure Games Release was never reviewed in any Magazine in 1989.
I found it also very confusing that Softpres have an IPF of De Luxe Monopoly (which is not Listed on HOL) but the Link from softpres to HOL goes to the normal Monopoly site.
But the these Versions are different, not only a budget or second release.

Yes on HOL. The copyright date for the retail amiga version is 1989, it's printed on the box.

Yeah, but the box could be used for multiple versions like the ST or PC version or simply have the wrong date on it. I'll try to find the US magazine that has the advert for the game in it.

Found it! It is indeed from 1989. Computer Gaming World issue 61 (July 1989) on page 33: https://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/issues/cgw_61.pdf

So seems like it was released in the US in 1989 and only came to Europe two years later.

Well OK. The advert just shows the original board games, nothing more.
For me it is still not clear why no Magazine reviews this game, more important, now
because Virgin did make adverts of that.?

If that was so, that there is a release in 1989 in USA, So we have no Disk image from this Version.
The USA Version that exists, named the Disk DeLuxe Monopoly USA or Monopoly US and have data from 1991.
So that means. Virgin released Monopoly in 1989 in USA and nothing else, without any reviews in magazine.
Than in 1991 they released US Version again in the same white Box, Changed the name and Data on Disk and released it as DeLuxe Monopoly. Maybe they put a sticker on the box foil like Deluxe Version ore New Version, which not exists anymore because the foil is away.
For Europe they changed the Intro, the Boardgamefields, the currency (pound) and made from 8 to 6 players. This Version they released in the Black DELUXE Monopoly Box and later in the Beau Jolly Board Genius Compilation.

Is that so, maybe?

Just because AMR doesn't have any review doesn't mean there isn't any. I've asked for an image of the disk from that white Monopoly box and at one point I'll have a look through more US magazines, but for now it's not unlikely that the game existed in 1989. We need more information, but to say that it wasn't released until 1991 is wrong in my opinion.

I am on your way. To say it was not released isnĀ“t wrong that stage.
Hope you find something in US Magazines from 1989.

But this means in my opinion that the Release from 1991 was
DeLuxe Monopoly. One in a US Version and one in GB Version.
The Diskname of ADFs I have so far from the US Version 1991 is also called DeLuxe Monopoly.

Not sure if you are interested in TOSEC-ISO corrections, but I found one today:

Civilization (1994)(Acid Software)(de-en)[!].zip

Content of the ISO:

Test of the Acid budget release on CD in CU Amiga 10/1997:

News about the CD being in shops from CU Amiga 11/1997:

So the release year should be 1997.

The Amiga part of TOSEC ISO has been abandoned, but I'm still working on it.
It's now corrected, thanks for the information.

Seems like all Amiga projects have recruitment problems.

Files on the first disk are from February 1990 which coincides with review dates for the game.

You are welcome Are there 'fields' in TOSEC for both copyright and update/release dates? Just wondering.

2 new games coming from Carraz Editions : Retrouve l'Histoire and Bambinours Formes et Couleurs.

I'm currently cleaning the disks (1 is dumped already), i do the next one.

https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/Retrouve-L-Histoire (strangely, the game doesn't appear in the game list)

https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/B...es-et-Couleurs

EDIT : after check, it appears that both were mastered with the Mega Mighty SCA virus.

So i upload the IPF of each in the zone (contains the SCA!) and a set of ADFs, one with the SCA, and the other without the SCA virus (clean disks).

There's a date flag that corresponds to the release date, but there's some flexibility to add additional information, such as in the title or in the "more info" flag.
However, I don't remember a set that includes the release date and copyright date...
We're always looking for a compromise between quantity and size of information..
