My vote goes to Fire & Ice too. Great gameplay and beautiful graphics in the A500 and CD32. |

I liked the Superfrog demo but didn't like the full game much.

Superfrog is like a warm summer, you play with friends outside, and when you get home at night, you grab some pizza, and play Superfrog, and enjoy a life in all it's beauty.
Fire and Ice is like a very cold winter, where you snowballing with the friends outside. and when you get back at home, you feel nice warm home, you get some pancakes, and play Fire and Ice, and enjoy a life in all it's beauty. I love every season, but winter is my favorite. ![]() |

Superfrog suffers from poor level design on boring gameplay. The scrolling speed is useless, since you can't really run anywhere.
Fire and Ice is a beautiful game, with beautiful level design and smart maps. It is also far more original in every department. |

that's more constructive to say the truth. Fun & technical achievement but hardly any replay value once completed. Fire & Ice is indeed great, I always said to myself that I would play more, but it's so damn hard that I only could reach world 2. I used the trainer to discover levels that were even harder... No passwords... A bit "ambitious". |

Fire & Ice and Superfrog hardly compare, as they are not the same type of game anyway. Fire & Ice is slow-paced with puzzle elements, whereas Superfrog is a "euro platformer" - that is, collect as many stuff as possible and go to the exit. Superfrog can be compared e.g. to Zool, but not to Fire & Ice. Hence you can't say which one is "better".

That's pretty much how I experienced the game too. Really love the presentation, but it's not a lot of fun to play if you can't get very far into the game.

Robocod is better than them both, I reckon. It's a platformer on the Amiga done right.

I played Superfrog just this week to get a better idea of if I was wildly off with overall thoughts for the game and it's made me go a slightly different direction with my feelings. It's gone from enjoying the first world levels but finding the levels after as a bit dull to enjoying the first world levels but absolutely thinking the game stinks thereafter. I think had all games taken a similar approach to that of Super frog or indeed most of Team17's work then I would have quit gaming back then
Yet I do love this era and totally respect the passion Team17 had for trying to deliver so much of a game each time and especially in showcasing the differences between the ST, but their games just seemed to lack a magic for the most |

I didn't when I used to play the PC version back in the 90's, but if I try today I get nowhere. True for many platformers though. If I play Dojo Dan now, I'm not actually playing because all I'm doing is being knocked around before I die. Back in the day I could finish a level.

To elaborate about the differences in gameplay pointed by DerSlammer, other plateformers i dig on the Amiga are Addams Family and Moktar (known as Titus the Fox outside from France), which are like Fire n Ice on the puzzle - slow exploration side and not storming through the level like others (like Zool that i never liked).
