Gave up on a new KB for the A2000 & A4000T, thinking of this to share between the two " https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0026-00...9SIA4REB6U7886 "

US$34 for the case printing plus another $29 to ship to me in Australia. Only took 3 or 4 days to arrive. I'm thinking of getting a small resin printer to do the keycaps and stands myself.
Very happy with the quality (though I'm no expert) but it wasn't entirely flat. Not noticeable once it's assembled but I might try a different resin. I went with the standard LEDO 6060 SLA Resin. I've fixed some of the issues already and will send for another print soon to confirm it's better. I've also FDM printed the stands and tested that they fit and work nicely. Nick |

New replacement A1000 keyboard PCB (Cherry MX and Mitsumi)
@kipper2k: i don’t have Eagle.
Having said that I feel the work from ncstebb is really cool and much more advanced than mine (I only have the outside surfaces, so I will encourage him (from Australia too!) to keep on doing the right stuff and I look forward to a great combination of both projects. Happy to support with Beta testing or any proposal. |

Awright. Just finishing off a couple of things. What file format should I send it in?
BTW the LEDO 6060 SLA Resin is really bendy compared to the original case, but there is no fear of it breaking. I didn't put much thought into the choice though. I'll try something different next time. |

Adjustments are taking a little longer than I hoped, so I thought I would post an update. The images show the parts I'm satisfied with, but I'm actually making two versions of the case. One is intended to be an exact replica of the original (this is now done). The other has modifications to make it suitable for resin printing... still working on this. I added a key plate partly just to ensure I leave space for one, not sure if this will be useful as is.

I've been working on a version of the A1000 kb model that can be resin printed. I've also done some more work on a keyplate. I now have 2 model keyplates... one matches the thickness of the original and another is thicker and will hopefully work when 3d printed.
I still feel like there is an issue... perhaps the alignment of the screw holes and the keys. I'll run off some prints to check. I won't have much time to work on this for a while so I'm posting my progress. |
