cool,
here is a pic of my hozizontal vidiot, it is lower than denise if soldered to the motherboard, it fits between the 2 big caps (2 layer and 1 sided components) ... below it is added to a header for easy removal... it is a rough version, and final is thinner so no contact with caps I do like the CPLD "Tiny RGB2HDMI CPLD design" Seb132 on that webpage, i think i will order a few Once i get it finalized i will share files. No restrictions whatsoever Last edited by kipper2k; 29 August 2023 at 16:58. |

Hi. Did you know that there exists commercial 40-wire "zif" flat cable ide connection. It's for 3.3 volt. The pinout is not the same as in 40 pin ide header.
Search ZIF CF or ZIF IDE in ebay for cheap adapters. Edit: There seems to be commercial 50 wire flat cable adapters as well. I didn't know about these before. Last edited by mkl; 29 August 2023 at 23:54. |

Hi Mkl,
thanx for the info i will check it out. I am trying to make it as easy as possible for people to build/use Quote:
The thing about this is it has options for CF, 40 pin and 44 pin IDE. and i did actually break a 50 pin FFC socket once soldered to the motherboard, they are very fragile (only come in 0.5mm) and people would be pretty peed off to have it broke on their board and lose IDE functionality because of it. The 30pin 1MM header is a lot more durable. I will tie in the Activity LED to the main keyboard LED 5 of these boards made at JLC should cost no more than $5 (including their cheap shipping option) here is the difference between the 2 different sizes (50 pin 0.5mm and 30 pin 1mm) there is quite a difference in sizes (and durability) Last edited by kipper2k; 30 August 2023 at 01:03. |

What you could do with this breakout IDE board is extending a bit the PCB so you can make 4 proper holes in each corner, then have 4 matching holes on the mobo, just above the ZIF flat connector, and the board could be attached with 15-20mm copper columns stand-offs to create like a mini A600/1200 hard disk cradle… would look neat and safer for the ribbon cable…

Yah, would like to get it secured. For location we need to think about the location of peoples expansions etc and also the clearance of the keyboard once the case is finally closed..
i try not to think about the final location until its almost done so i have an idea of clearances... I am hoping that the cables can all fit into an external case. would be nice to have everything controlled in 1 location. Hopefully people who are better than me at 3d modelling can create a nice case that can house all the extras in a smart little case |

I ordered 10 assembled vidiots, $17 CAD including shipping, fully assembled except for (1 x 2N3906) so $1.70 each (no duties)
Sits horizontal and fits between the 2 big caps |

Another new A500+ bmotherboard
Fancy design, these vidiots.
Nice. Regarding 3D design… no promises but I might be able to do something. Just need to know what. You know my collection on 3dWarehouse…. |

8373R3? Most common ECS Denise is R4. Any known functional differences between R3 andR4? |

Haven't seen a document about it. R3 was mostly an early A3000 chip.

For the 8373, not sure exactly where that came from, it was in my box of chips so i just threw it in and it works Mabbe i will remove it and lock it up lol Here is the Header... Has USB, 3 x Gotek buttons and the Gotek display wired to it So now that i have no need of U32, U34 and U35 and mabbe even the expansion header i am debating to completely remove them from existance and possibly have room for something else in its place or in the slot ? Now is the time to make the changes, mabbe port all the CPU pins over there for expansion mabbe... Even required Denise signals for HDMI, lol, gotta hate feature creep but it would be pretty easy to do at this stage Last edited by kipper2k; 01 September 2023 at 15:39. |

just thinking...
board can be extended into the slot. I am not even sure if people are interested in this board nowadays. There are so many other options |

k, a few more tweaks...
removed the lower logic chips and i added a second CPU slot (CPU has been rotated right 90 degrees) if people ever want to use their own accels etc out of the way of the main board area. I am thinking of using a 20Mhz (or similar over there) Obviously i removed the 56 pin expansion header. You can use the 30 pin FFC header on the left for your expansion IDE needs. I added a copycat header on the right side connected to a 44 pin IDE header so you can plugin your IDE device on the motherboard itself. This could be done by opening the expansion trapdoor and fitting it from underneath I did not hardwire the FFC headers to each other, ATM you would need to use an 8" FFC cable. . I have the Smally nouse on this board. it will not be present on a public version. I spoke to the author and he is willing to give me permission but i wll leave it off. There is still a fair bit of room. For the RTC clock circuit i removed all the bulky diodes and replaced with a transistor. You can still use the 2032 battery. ( i will use a rechargeable and recharge in my little portable device whenever needed. There are a few more changes, talk more about that later Last edited by kipper2k; 05 September 2023 at 15:09. |

Just for clarification, as of course this thing is still derived from Raemixx500, you still need to abide by CC-BY-NC-SA.

Just for clarification, it is not, it is adapted from my own SMD board which was actually derived from mine and RED Kegs SMD500 board. There will be no licensing on this board as I obtained permission to use his work, i also have the Amiga 500+ raw images i used
Why are you sounding like a bitter person who has had his toys thrown out of the pram ? If you think i have stole something from you, don't make snide comments, tell me what and i will set the record straight ? Last edited by kipper2k; 05 September 2023 at 20:26. |

Sure kipper, sure. I know the truth, you know the truth.
Do what you want, I'm tired of wasting my time with this thing and with you. Anybody can read this topic and figure out what kind of person you are and how much of a slaphead you have been since the beginning. This is the last drop as far as I'm concerned, I'm going to sever all my ties with the Amiga world. And while that is probably not a big loss for the "community", I'm sure that the respect you have (not) shown for open source stuff (and for me) will probably make the other more talented developers who share my open source ideals think twice about releasing anything openly. But that will actually make it even better for you! Since 99% of what you have done has been derived from someone else's open work, with no more new stuff to copy and stick your name on it, you will probably have a lot of time to relax and spend lying in the sunshine. So enjoy! |
