Simon the Sorcerer AmigaCD (not CD32)
There's a Amiga Format review in AMR: https://amr.abime.net/review_3685
and I found this one in CU Amiga: (Funny how the AMR review even states 'Not in HOL. Although unlikely, need to check if this is a re-release of the CD32 version' ) As always any additional info is very welcome |

And requirements: SCSI CD-ROM or CD32 I managed to run the game on A1200 through Squirrell and it was CD32 version.I do not think there was another one separate CD release. |

CD32 had speech in CD audio quality. No speech at all in standard version.

I've never seen the "CD" re-release, but the clunky behavior described in the AF review is exactly what happened when I tried to run the CD32 version on my 1200 many years ago. Code-wise, I expect they're identical, but the CD32 version has a volume name of CD32_TEST and no icons. I would suspect that the re-release was given a proper volume name and an icon to run from Workbench--thus it would be a different ISO--but there's no way to know for certain until a copy of this surfaces.

One magazine might mess it up, but two are unlikely. |

maybe it was an idea never released to export CD32 game to run on Amiga 1200 without using CD32 emulation.
edit: my cd32 disc is labelled "Test CD32" and it is very strange for CD32 games. However with A1200 config the game crash with a guru 8000000B edit2: i copy cd32 iso content into the directory of aga floppy disk install and replace every file (in more thare are sound effetcts file, i think talkie file), but it run like floppy version, so only text and no talkie. CD32 version start with "runit 2 gameamiga" floppy version start with "runit gameamiga" run runit2 gameamiga from hd installed game not works because i think runit 2 run only on CD32 or require something other feature Last edited by Seiya; 02 August 2023 at 12:41. |

"CD32_TEST" (and "CDTV_TEST") are the default volume names generated by Commodore's ISO mastering tools. I've seen a few games that have them. I think Beneath a Steel Sky is another one.

Had a look at the TOSEC and redump version of the game and they are identical. Let's hope somebody bought that re-release from 1998 and can check it.
