what's up with the ads today?
Since today the ads on the site have become wickedly in my face. I get fullscreen ad overlays, I get an annoyingly persistent bar that scrolls up in the bottom, the ads embedded in the site take up half the screen real-estate...
This is not intentional I hope? I'm sorry but for now the adblocker is on again because this is crazy :/ |

Yeah I just spotted it. Apparently even RCK thinks creating a new thread is expensive

Even as a site supporter I’m seeing loads of ads and there should only be one banner visible at the top.

Yes, with google auto ads system, I could not control anymore the number or the location of member's advertisements.
So I decide to just remove them, as it was really intrusive It will be simpler now, same rules for EAB and HOL: - guest = automatic ads - eab's member = no ads If you want to support us, you can instead make a paypal monthly donation https://eab.abime.net/misc.php?do=donate Thanks for the last 10 years of support guys ! I had a report from someone on a1k.org that ads for non-EAB members make HOL almost unusable. Especially on mobile the ads seem to prevent clicking on the menu options. Hopefully something that RCK can have a look at.
Edit: It's pretty bad. Last edited by TCD; 07 July 2023 at 14:26. |

Yes I know that auto ads are coming in front of menu and pic, we will have to find something better for guest nav.
