Sim City 2000

First of all, I'm aware that running the Mac version on shapeshifter make the game more playable on slightly expanded A1200.
But I wonder if there is a way to make a WHD fix to run the game in Low res, as the PlayStation version or the SNES were. Maybe it would speed up significantly the Amiga version ?

I played my copy back in the day in an expanded A4000/040 with promoted RTG graphics and was slow. I always was running in Cheetah mode. I doubt you'll get more speed than that, on the Amiga version.

Play the Mac version as you said, it is much faster on the same hardware.

Another shameful release which could perform way better. So many titles are suffering from lack of proper development. UFO is also similar. The game would bw awesome, but playing it is a real pain due to it's slowness.

UFO being done by Scott Johnson, the man responsible of Colonization port and Hired Guns, I'm sure it isn't a lack of knowledge of the Amiga. The game was probably to ambitious for an unexpanded A1200 (or A500).

The game is in C. They should have reprogrammed the game in assembler for speed.

I checked again the Amiga version and it is downright unplayable on a stock A1200. Fired up DOSBox and the DOS version and it's a breeze to play.

It is by definition unplayable on it since it needs HD and fast ram.

Definitely, friend! I was comparing the DOS and Amiga versions of the game.
