Best Way to Have Scrollable Group in ClassAct
Hi there!
I want to have a "vertical virtual group" with vertical and horizontal scrollers so that I can add many rows of gadgets, with long labels, to this group while keeping the group itself "small". In MUI, I did that with: ... Child, ScrollgroupObject, MUIA_Scrollgroup_Contents, VirtgroupObject, Child, ... What's the best (simplest) way to do that in ClassAct? Thanks in advance! ![]() |

PS. It seems that ReAction has a virtual.gadget that allows scrollers... but I can't find something similar for ClassAct

PPS. I have been through all (?) the GUI frameworks and gadgets available in Aminet (dev/gui) and Google Search. I tried many different things, from BGUI to Feelin ("After Intuition comes Feeling"
![]() ![]() In another thread, I was wondering if distributing the virtual.gadget from ReAction would be "legal", just wondering? (Not trying to start a discussion on who is the true owner of what!) |

As it is an AmigaOS component it would require licensing for distribution.
But as virtual.gadget has been part of the OS for 23 years, I think requiring OS3.9 or better is pretty reasonable. The few who still have not even upgraded to that level are unlikely to be running any new software that is released anyway. Last edited by Minuous; 12 April 2023 at 09:07. |

Hi Minuous!
Ouch, I'm one of those who never upgraded ![]() Is virtual.gadget only in OS3.9 or also in OS3.5? Is it still possible to buy either? (I see that Vesalia has pages dedicated to them but couldn't see a way to buy them...) Cheers! |

virtual.gadget was introduced with OS3.9. I don't think anywhere still has stocks left of 3.5 or 3.9. But 3.2 is very much available and better overall anyway ;-)

You're right
![]() I'm going to make the use of virtual.gadget optional so that those with >3.1 can have a nicer GUI but others with "original" 3.1 can still use AmiModRadio... Cheers! |
