New Yorkshire Guy Onboard
Hi everyone,
Well, it's been 20 years since I touched an Amiga. Back then I got hold of a few not working A500's and fixed them then a 1200 which I installed 3.5 on and had a lot of fun with. Life throws the odd curved ball and here I am with another 4 A500's (now working) and a troubled A1200. I'm getting there with it and have some interesting learning to do once I get hold of a copy of 3.2! That is harder than I thought for some reason. Still. We are where we are as they say. So... a little about me. My background is electronics with design experience around 6809 and Z80 systems. I worked in R&D for a PC manufacturer around the time of 386/486 systems and had a lot of fun. I still repair older systems, QL, Dragon 32, Spectrums, ST's, Amstrad etc. I used to love programming for DOS and CP/M and will, when I get this A1200 sorted, start playing with 68k assembler again. I'm no expert but get by I will ask some dumb questions as I learn the system and am a voracious reader so will be all over this place. Great to see such an active board, if I can help with PC or 8 bit problems get in touch. I'm always happy to help out. Cheers, Mark |

Hi, and welcome, from another Yorkshire member!
I'm having difficulty getting hold of 3.2 too, had it pre-ordered for a while now. |

Hullo, cuppa tea?
Welcome. Leeds in Yorkshire was renown for (UK) Amiga Hardware back in the day, the home of Power Computing! I came from the other coloured rose, Preston, which had Ladbrokes Computing their biggest competitor. War of the Roses Amiga style. Last edited by alexh; 14 March 2023 at 15:41. |
