For standard sector format disks it works fine, i've tested a few IPFs in Steem and they load. It won't do Atari protections though like Copylock ST, just plain ST disks. Upload an scp file / kf dump and i'll have a look.

They are copy protected so no chance creating IPFs. You could try Aufit to convert SCP to STX for STEEM.

Well the scp files load in STEEM so they seem ok, only Denis will know though!

Only Denis can possibly (officially) do the scp --> ipf conversion, with the SPS utility, right?

Hi Snoopy1234 ,
if you upload them to The Zone (or send them via WeTransfer or similar service) I'll help you convert them.
I have a good experience with Atari ST floppies, Greaseweazle, Aufit & Co.

I've Zoned STX files that load in STEEM SSE!

STEEM reads SCP files so you can either drop them straight into STEEM or convert to STX!

I don't, i ask to the dumper to dump his disk in kryoflux format with its greasleweasle.

You could cheat and use HxC > KF RAW

I've converted them to STX after BarryB's suggestion. SCP works in STEEM too.

Yes me too after your note on Aufit. I couldn't initially as Aufit locked up due to file size or something but after leaving it to process the Save image request it converts right away now.

Or indeed Greaseweazle tools!

By the way HFEv3 support is now in latest FlashFloppy and Greaseweazle official releases.

Of course, how lax of me to forget the Dungeon Master conversion using SCP and Greaseweazle

Would there be any interest in batch converting all available IPF image files to HFEv3 and hosting the whole lot on the EAB file server?

This would be a useful library of original uncracked titles for use on Gotek.

Yes, I was meaning that only you can do an official conversion to the ipf format (from SCP or KF formats provided by users)

Maybe a stupid question (I mean: already asked before by somebody): is it impossible or super-difficult to add direct IPF support to FlashFloppy?
This would completely avoid the need to do IPF-HFEv3 conversions for Gotek use.

Not always, unfortunately.
There are titles which don't load from SCP (but load fine when converted to STX). Maybe because of the specific loader, I didn't investigate.
I discovered that during my tests... can't remember which ones, though

An alternative utility for generating IPF files?

Thanks! It's clear now

This is what Keir said on this matter:

Quote:
I was intending to add native IPF support to FlashFloppy for the newest Goteks with more RAM and CPU power. However I realised that supporting conversion to HFEv3 is good enough, and a lot easier!
So no real need to add native IPF support as HFEv3 will work on all Goteks with FlashFloppy!

Ok, thanks

BarryB, one question: the .stx of Giana (Atari ST) you uploaded to The Zone is directly derived from the .scp, without any trick?
A friend of mine said that all releases of Giana have a laser hole protection... is that true or...?

Would you upload the flux file to The Zone, for preservation? Unless it's already on the FTP server.
