For standard sector format disks it works fine, i've tested a few IPFs in Steem and they load. It won't do Atari protections though like Copylock ST, just plain ST disks. Upload an scp file / kf dump and i'll have a look.

They are copy protected so no chance creating IPFs. You could try Aufit to convert SCP to STX for STEEM.

Well the scp files load in STEEM so they seem ok, only Denis will know though!

Only Denis can possibly (officially) do the scp --> ipf conversion, with the SPS utility, right?

I've Zoned STX files that load in STEEM SSE!
STEEM reads SCP files so you can either drop them straight into STEEM or convert to STX! |

I've converted them to STX after BarryB's suggestion. SCP works in STEEM too.

Would there be any interest in batch converting all available IPF image files to HFEv3 and hosting the whole lot on the EAB file server?
This would be a useful library of original uncracked titles for use on Gotek. |

Yes, I was meaning that only you can do an official conversion to the ipf format (from SCP or KF formats provided by users)

This would completely avoid the need to do IPF-HFEv3 conversions for Gotek use. Quote:
There are titles which don't load from SCP (but load fine when converted to STX). Maybe because of the specific loader, I didn't investigate. I discovered that during my tests... can't remember which ones, though Last edited by Supamax; 04 March 2023 at 00:30. |

Ok, thanks
BarryB, one question: the .stx of Giana (Atari ST) you uploaded to The Zone is directly derived from the .scp, without any trick? A friend of mine said that all releases of Giana have a laser hole protection... is that true or...? Would you upload the flux file to The Zone, for preservation? Unless it's already on the FTP server. Last edited by Supamax; 04 March 2023 at 21:53. |
