Warlords WHDload and save games

This used to work but I had reinstalled the whdload package and now it doesn't.

When I go to save the game, it bugs out with an error about an incorrect save disk. The save will still show up in the list when you load but it will say it is a broken save file.

Any suggestions? I didn't see anything in the read me which is admittedly brief. You can enter a file path when saving but I am not sure what the proper path should be, if thats the problem.

I just tested and it's fine. Can you make a screenshot? Make sure that you have "save" in "data" subdir.

Also test the game with FILELOG enabled (check it in whdload splash screen) and share C:.whdl_filelog.

just after a write of an empty file, Examine fails.

- Do you have special tooltypes (like NOWRITECACHE to write to disk immediately) ?
- Do you have an empty "testtest" file in "save" now?
- What whdload version are you using?


A workaround would be to create a non-empty file from outside whdload (or copy a nonempty file in save) and try to overwrite it.

Checked the prefs, no tool types enabled other than changing the universal quit key. Nowritecache is not on.

Yes, the files do show in the save folder, all of them with a file size of 0

Whdload version is 18,7,6366

That worked. Exited out and launched the game again, and that file loads just fine.

Like I said it used to work on the exact same system with a previous install of the game, so I am not sure why it'd be different now.

Sounds like a already fixed issue, pleas try whdload 18.8.
