N00b: Installing "Next" on OS3.2 A500
I am an Amiga n00b and want to install Next on my A500 so that I can read HTML documents, etc.
I downloaded the Next.lha file and expanded it. Now I have four directories (ENV, T, Clipboards and read) and no idea what to do with them I did check out the read directory, but don't see any installation help. Am I just to copy everything to C ? What if I want it installed at User:Utilities/Next/ ??? Any help is appreciated! |

ENV, T and Clipboards are always in RAM. They don't belong to Next.
Check the archive contents on the bottom of this page: http://aminet.net/package/text/show/Next There are read/upload/Next41 directories and all the files belonging to Next are in Next41. So just open Ram, read and upload and drag the Next41 drawer to User:Utilities/ to get almost what you asked for. Then rename Next41 to Next to get User:Utilities/Next/ |

thomas forgot to mention 1 tiny detail in the amiga..including the emulator..
each info file contains the app which they want you to open the files in.. it might say c  pmore c:mmpp c:least.. instead of manually going through each and every info file and changing it.. you'll need an app to change bypass that setting and tell the app to use NEXT and where its located.. i have load of documents.. and should really install the app but theres a few to choose from and i dont know which 1 is best.. I do suggest you use xpkmaster.library and subs.. powerpacker.library.. and xfddecrunch.library incase you find and compressed text files. read this ... > http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=106551 Last edited by andy2004; 31 July 2022 at 16:12. |
