What's better for combat -- spells or melee? Trying to figure out if getting more intelligence would be better than strength when I do get around to playing it.

I do not have any spells and the short sword is very weak. I am loosing almost every fight quickly.

I'm pretty sure I can do one in no time (game exe need to be patched), I just need a beta tester.. There is plenty of room in the two disk version, so if Estrayk wants to choose a suitable module.. |

I played the 3 disk version 'quickly' to take the screenshots, so I would gladly beta test a two disk version

Just out of curiosity.. What is the configuration you used for the tests? Because the game seems to dynamically allocate memory (does it use it as a cache?) and in many cases it fails to start in configurations with a lot of memory and starts in some with less! (you can see the problem because the audio works badly). Probably I will need to patch the allocator, less simple than expected .. Or you get used to using configurations with a lot of memory |

But even small differences in memory configurations, due to different kickstarts or type, lead to different results. In some cases the allocation fails but the program does not exit and produces errors (audio for the most part). I have to investigate.. --- I clarify what I mean when I said "dynamically allocate memory". By dynamics I meant that it allocate not a constant quantity but depends on the available memory (hence my idea that it partly uses it as a cache). And in some cases it is wrong because it allocates initially too much, and then when in fact it's really needed more, it is fragmented or unavailable and behaves badly. |
