Smile Anyone using the New Buddha IDE in their 2000?

Hi

I was thinking of buying a couple, just want to know how they work for you. It says they support multiple IDE devices. Does it work with auto-assign devices? or as the device itself says(cable select)

Thanks
RC

I have a buddah flash 20 year ed, works flawless up to about 250gb for bootable drives, i use a 120gb ssd as a boot drive and another 250ssd as more stoage via ide to sata adapters. they show in early start up. To enable the secondary ide port you must have buddahide tool loading at boot up, drives shpuld be jumpered master/slave

The best thing about this card for me is the clock port, i run rapid road usb adapter off it brining usb ports to the 2000, the buddah is a good allrounder but can be pickey with some ide to cf cards, transfer rates are limited to the sorro 2 bus speed 2.8mbps

May I ask, which brand of IDE to SATA adapter do you use?

Hi,

I don't have an a2000 but I have the new 20th anniversary Buddha and have used it in may a1200T (ZIV busboard), a3000 and a4000 and it now works really well. I have used the cheapest ebay IDE-SATA convertors without any trouble. I currently have a rapid road attached to the clockport and it also works fine. When I first got the card it would not recognise compact flash cards or certain hard drives. Jens released a firmware update which has fixed this and I have not had problems since. The supplied DOM was great for installing workbench but died after the second use! I also get between 2-3mb/s on IDE and about 1mb/s with the rapidroad.

Hope this helps

Jonathan

Buddah IDE problems be ware!

I installed DirectoryOpus.... it deleted the boot partition BDHO..."BDH0:Uninitialized" and WORK partition has been deleted of all files. Another program is QuaterBack Tools is useless on the BDH0 stating disk error not an AmigaDOS volume! This Buddha IDE is not compatible with some Amiga programs! Has anyone had this problem, please reply. Backup your software before installing DirectoryOpus!

Sounds like something else went wrong here. A non-4GB safe filesystem or similar.

I have a A3000T and I have a buddha IDE 20 year that I just bought. If you have QuarterbackTools when you check BDH0 or BDH1 does it give you an error message and ? in all the fields. If it does, do NOT continue it will reboot your amiga and delete the HD partitions. This what my buddha is doing. I also must install workbench.library on floppy to continue the installation. I installed the new 3.2 roms and the OS3.2 and copied the workbench.library from the cd to a floppy to make the buddha happy. I contacted icomputers and this issue has not been corrected this has been an ongoing issue for 4 weeks. you can send me a reply a3000t@yahoo.com
