Legal Games / WHDLoad Collection
Just wondered if anyone has every put together a list or collection of games that are fully Legal and allowed to be shared?
ie a zip file of all the WHDload of games that can be shared that are no longer copyrighted protected or have gone freeware. Just a thought really, more and more Amiga images / HDF files / collections being made have basically every Amiga game ever made which is great for us end users but also at the same time some company may one day come along and spoil the fun maybe so just wonder is their was a package made that removes all that risk and then could be shared anywhere with out risk or issue. |

All Amiga games are still "copyrighted", and will continue to be for quite a few more years. No matter if it's a commercial game or a freeware release: you only have the rights the copyright holder grants you - and that almost never includes "you're allowed to distribute modified versions".
So "fully legal" would require the original authors to give their consent to have a modified version - that's what a WHDLoad install is - distributed. There's very few (Amiga) games matching that description. |
