Sweet baby Jesus... the amount of work you've must have put into this

The Amiga shell scripts using the best stuff Aminet has to offer are :chef's kiss: (great use of sed!)

Wow
It's crazy yes, I have lost count of hours I have spend on it so far, but it's somewhere above 3000 hours .

A lot of nifty scripting has been cooked up over the years and having used Linux and bash scripting for a long time, sed was natural and easy to modify files, create scripts etc.

Without Aminet I'm not sure this would have been possible to make.

Thanks for all the time you've spent on making this invaluable tool, it's certainly made my life a lot easier. Looking forward to many future releases.

Same issue, either I have not got the modified download or the error persists. The website says "Latest stable: v1.6.1 (2022-01-01 20:15 CET)" is that the modified version? I checked the CRC too and they are identical to the version I had before.

I'm having an issue whereby I can't install OS3.2 even though I've it selected in the package filtering options, all options there remain green even though I've selected just 3.2 and I can't seem to highlight only one option individually. Once HST starts it proceeds to install 3.9 + boing bags 1 and 2 instead.

I assume you're using install mode with HstWB Installer setup and not a self install image.

Do you have a cd-rom inserted in a drive or any iso files attached showing with a drive letter in file explorer?
If yes, then remove or eject them.

If you have multiple Amiga OS in your selected Amiga OS directory, try reducing them to just Amiga OS 3.2 adf files.

I have setup all files and directories via setup.cmd and also started the installation given the option there too. Removing the OS3.9.iso and it's two boing bag updates resulted in the installation proceeding as normal for 3.2 until the following error occurs during installation?

I uploaded and overwrite the zip files without changing any versions.

All downloads are hosted via CDN which could hold a cached version, so could be it didn't notice the update i made.

Just downloaded both HstWB Installer portable with and without packages and they contain the fix.

What kickstart rom is HstWB Installer using when you run install?

You can see this in the powershell window a few lines before is says starting emulator.

I don't see this with Kickstart 3.2 (47.96) (A1200) kicka1200.rom from Amiga OS 3.2 rom directory.

It seems it's using Kickstart 3.1 rom according to the log window though I do have the 3.2 rom (kicka1200.rom) in the kickstart folder. Does HST also support the Kickstart 3.2.1 rom? - A1200.47.102.rom

Quote:
Kickstart rom: Kickstart 3.1 (40.068) (A1200) Rom 'C:\Users\Patrick\Desktop\hstwb_1.6.1\64gb_hstwb_1.6.1\kickstart\amiga-os-310-a1200.rom'
Amiga OS 3.2 Workbench adf: Amiga OS 3.2 Workbench Disk 'C:\Users\Patrick\Desktop\hstwb_1.6.1\64gb_hstwb_1.6.1\amigaos\Workbench3.2.adf'
Amiga OS 3.2 Install adf: Amiga OS 3.2 Install Disk 'C:\Users\Patrick\Desktop\hstwb_1.6.1\64gb_hstwb_1.6.1\amigaos\Install3.2.adf'

Preparing install...
Copying Amiga OS files to temp install dir
Done.

Yes, kickstart 3.2.1 rom is also supported.

I found additional bugs using install mode and fixed them, one of them is the issue with Amiga os dir containing multiple Amiga os resulting in eg. install of Amiga os 3.9 when selecting 3.2.

It will be preparing release v1.6.2 later tomorrow with these fixes.

Another issue is you can't have both 3.1.4 workbench disks and 3.2 - 3.2.1 workbench disks as they share the same file name EG fonts.adf

I noticed this problem too, perhaps HST could be updated to have dedicated folders for each AmigaOS release instead of having everything stored under the "amigaos" folder. So perhaps - amigaos/3.1, amigaos/3.2 etc...

That's exactly the same idea I had yesterday and added support for any sub-directory structure with Amiga OS files for both install mode and self install.

Just a sec, writing HstWB Installer v1.6.2 release post .

This is Fantastic!

I particularly enjoyed the number of new useful packages, including the WHDLoad Beta&Magazines, AmigaTestKit and many others. I could only think of the WHDLoad Cracktros.

Many many thanks for the great work!

One suggestion regarding installation of Locales under 3.2, would it be possible to have a requester asking the user to specify which locale(s) to install rather than HST installing all locales as installing all these can take some time and isn't really necessary.

Launcher will be fixed in next release. Here's quick fix to get it running:

1. Open launcher.cmd and replace all of it with
Code:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -nologo -Noninteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -File launcher.ps1
2. Open launcher.ps1 and replace ".lnk" with ".cmd".

Try running launcher again.

It could be an option in next release.

There is already a way of limiting locales, just delete the locale .adf files you don't want installed.

I usually only have following .adf files for a minimal install of amiga os 3.2 for A1200:
  • Classes3.2.adf
  • DiskDoctor.adf
  • Extras3.2.adf
  • Fonts.adf
  • Install3.2.adf
  • Locale.adf
  • Locale-EN.adf
  • MMULibs.adf
  • ModulesA1200_3.2.adf
  • Storage3.2.adf
  • Workbench3.2.adf

And following .adf files for a minimal install of amiga os 3.2.1 for A1200:
  • Classes3.2.1.adf
  • Classes3.2.adf
  • DiskDoctor.adf
  • Extras3.2.adf
  • Fonts.adf
  • Install3.2.adf
  • Locale.adf
  • Locale3.2.1-EN.adf
  • Locale-EN.adf
  • MMULibs.adf
  • ModulesA1200_3.2.1.adf
  • ModulesA1200_3.2.adf
  • Storage3.2.adf
  • Update3.2.1.adf
  • Workbench3.2.adf

This makes amiga os 3.2 + 3.2.1 install much faster. Locale adfs are quite slow to unpack.

That's interesting, I didn't know HST would proceed with some missing .adfs. I know you can see what you have and what's missing from the "View Amiga OS Set files" option but I always thought you may need the entire set. Perhaps vital .adfs for installation could be marked in a different colour as an option in a future release?
