How much did it cost to play Metal Slug to the end in the arcade?
I decided to play the game in its entirety since it's discussed so much.
The game said I used well over 20 continues (might of been closer to 30, as this was a few months ago I tried this). Although; 1 credit = 2 continues. How much 1 credit costs around the world, I don't know. After playing to completion, I was surprised people wanted this game ported. An A500 version would no doubt be easier to play since it wouldn't be allowed to throw such overwhelming odds against the player. How much money did anyone spend on this game in the arcade? |

There's nothin wrong with MS difficulty. It makes it interesting. I've been playing it on an off for years on PSX, have never got past the 3rd boss yet, but I'm perfectly happy with that.

I remember spending money in arcade, but never played it to end in Arcade. It was more - how far you can get on single credit - challenge. We did with most of games, for example Final Fight, where I could play more than half of the game on single credit.
I think it was Retro who I saw play Robocop, whole game, with single credit. |

Now, that is art of playing. Well done!
I remember couple other games on your YT account that I never thought possible to beat, and once I saw how easy you did it, I had to play them to end. Was it x-out and/or project-x?? I remember Turrican i think Mega drive or SNES version. |

Yeah, I had several videos.
I think Project-X still is somewhere on World of Longplays after Recorded Amiga Games went under. Unfortunately the MAME videos I did of Aliens, Splatterhouse and Shadow Warriors seems to be long gone. |

I have the Xbox 360 version and the brilliant M2 version on the switch. I have never even beaten the game(using the number of continues you can get on the arcaded version on home consoles. obviously with mame if i put enough credits in , got close, but on my one credit that's insane. No other arcade music gets close to bringing up such emotion in me |

Yup, Shinobi is my absolute favourite arcade game of all time
There are dip switches for the game i.e: Difficulty:In the arcades usually "Normal" and "Slow" were set. I can finish this with "Hardest" and "Fast" Also, no matter what dip switch settings; you cannot continue in Mission 5. You can read an old thread here: Shinobi Boss Level 5 Last edited by DamienD; 02 March 2021 at 14:49. |

About Metal Slug, in reality i reach to play greatly the first two levels, with a bit of train without use a single credit, and saving all the soldiers; it's rare ie i cannot complete the first level untouched, with all the soldiers saved.
I can say the hint in later levels is to keep concentrated on kill enemies fast, despite try to grab objects/weapons or save mens; but yes, credits are needed there |

That is MS2, did you play MS1 with 1 credit as well.
Gratz on being able to do something that seems to me almost impossible. |
