Amiga C IDE & Compilers?
I've not really coded anything since University and not on Amiga. Lately, I'm reviewing a few C books, some Amiga abacus books, and poking around in CodeBlocks on a Mac.
I have several classic Amiga 060 machines, AGA & ECS. Is there an editor/compiler combo similar for working natively on Amiga? Which options support 060? Can I work on the Mac with CodeBlocks and compile for Amiga? What would be needed in that case. Or just use CodeBlocks as an editor, then compile the file with an Amiga compiler? Thanks for input and suggestions. |

Bebbo's GCC 6.5b cross compiler is amazing and can be installed on your Mac to use with Code::Blocks. https://github.com/bebbo/amiga-gcc

There aren't many native Amiga development environments. Cubic IDE and StormC are the main ones I can think of. Neither has been updated in quite some time, but they may suit your needs. You may have an easier time with a cross compiler, though, like the one Samurai_Crow mentioned. There are a bunch of others, too, although I don't know them by name.

Crosscompiling is indeed much more comfortable but if you like to code on your Amiga I can recommend TuiTED. -> https://aminet.net/package/text/edit/TuiTED
It's lightweight but does have an integrated file browser, handles multiple files in tabs and provides C syntax highlighting. If you combine it with some shells, you "almost" have that modern IDE feeling. As a compiler I still like SAS/C. |
