Towerized A1200 two problems
I have towerized A1200, accelerator, elbox zorro IV, xsurf and some other cards.
I have two problems : When I start the whdload installed game, it runs a script called whdload-startup witch shuts down the Genesis TCP / IP stack. It is sample script, all you have to do is edit the right device and remove the twigs from the front. Problem is, it takes 1 to 5 minutes to turn off Genesis. I know that if I turn off Genesis by hand, the game will start immediately. AND it has been working with current form. I have an ATX adapter from Ian Stedman. The actual power switch is taken from the power switch in the power supply housing and the one in the adapter is jumped closed. When I turn on the power, the power light flashes but the PSU does not turn on. If I leave the machine on and shake jumper the machine will turn on and stay on. Is there a fault in the adapter or the power supply? Any hints? |

I have and it is set to latch. Turning power ON with case's swicth does nothing, but ticling with jumper (in picture) cause HD led to blink once and ticling more causes Amiga to turn ON, if case's switch is turned on.
Should I try to manually turn it ON ? https://www.techpowerup.com/articles...verclocking/22 Is there any change that I have messed up with AT P8 and P9 connectors? I mean they are 100% sure from this : http://www.hilmanind.com/pinouts/atpwr.htm Power good is just connected to 5v trail. How about that xsurf turn Off problem, it works and after I updated whdload it worked few times just like it should, but not anymore. Network works just fine. |

WHDLOAD has an option to disable the internet I think, can't you just use that?

Do you mean the game doesn't start the time it takes to shut down Genisis? If so, you should trace the scripts to see where the delay happens.

Put "set echo on" on top of the script and redirect the output to a CON: window (see whdload.prefs).

Problem solved, seems that both problems were related. This was a "never trust internet" case.
http://www.hilmanind.com/pinouts/atpwr.htm There is NO -5v in P8 connector like page says. Lucky me I didn't break anything. I turned PSU on with jump wire, noticed that I didn't start if ATX was connected. Noticed that it starts without P8 connected. Checked every wire twice and then thought check to other sources. Now I realized that red wire would not be -5v like that page says. |

Good that you found the problem.
Pinouts.ru seems to be reliable. https://pinouts.ru/Power/MotherboardPower_pinout.shtml |
