A4000 Keyboard & Display Problem

Ok this is a strange problem.

I've got 2 A4000's (A and B) and only 1 A4000 keyboard. I've been having random problems with the keyboard doing this
```````````````````````````````````````````
upon startup. I normally can get it to stop eventually but today I was trying to install a scsi controller and hard drive into my second A4000 (B) and I was unable to make it stop. Because of the keyboard issue I'd gutted (B) back to the basic machine without anything extra installed, no graphics card or scsi drive and controller. I did get (B) to boot up with just the CF adapter installed. I noticed that the keyboard plug was very loose when I wiggled it. I was guessing that the mainboard would need a resolder.
To confirm that the problem was on (B) I swapped to the other computer.
So I unplugged the keyboard from the second A4000(B) and plugged it back into the original A4000(A) and powered it up. (A) powered up but the screen stayed black. Thinking I'd hit one of the buttons on the 1084S I toggled them with no success. So I unplugged the keyboard and powered up the computer and bingo the monitor showed a display.
Question; is the keyboard and display tied together somehow and which chip in the keyboard is the likely culprit.
cheers
what do you mean by "make it stop" ?
the display and keyboard are not tied together, but if the keyboard somehow keeps the amiga in permanent reset, it won't boot..
A couple of resets and a cable giggle will usually make it stop.
I don't think it's continually resetting, it's just freezing.
I know this is an old post but did you ever fix the problem?
