Are all Chip RAM expansion built the same?

I have a 500+ with a 1mb Chip RAM in the trapdoor. I have noticed some newer ones, with an onboard clock, and they would presumably use newer RAM, and it got me thinking, so i thought i would ask, are all trapdoor expansions the same? or what i mean is, will adding a newer board with newer chip RAM, speed up R/WR speeds, and make any difference, even if slightly, or because of the Amiga's architecture, does it not make much difference.

thanks.

They're made with more modern parts, but ultimately, even the oldest expansions were going as fast as the chip RAM bus can go. Everything there is limited by the speed of the chip RAM accesses, so modern expansions with modern RAM will be exactly the same speed.

No speed difference, but I know that some newer chipmem expensions won't genlock (if you want to do that of course).
