A500 weird keyboard problem

Hello guys,

I have managed to get my A500 to a sweet working condition! But I still have one problem; the keyboard sometimes inexplicably stops working or the caps lock key activates by itself.

What could be the problem? Is it fixable?

Did the TestKit and the keyboard seems to work ok for the most part. Sometimes it dies altogether but comes back to life after a while or after a reboot. Sometimes the caps lock activates by itself. Also, strangely the numbers (not the numpad or the F keys, these work ok) rarely work. But some of them come to life after some presses.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem where the arrow keys and space bar would stop working and a new membrane failed to fix. If I pressed down on the large controller chip on the keyboard then they would work again for a short time. I think there was a dry joint somewhere on the circuit. I recently bought a new controller board on eBay and fitted that and now it’s working great again.
