RoboCop 3D (anyone have this working?)

Hi,

I can not get my WHDLoad install of Ocean's RoboCop 3D game to work. It runs up until the point I try to begin a mission then it crashes with this WB dialogue msg box:-

Exception "Access Fault" ($4008)
PC=$18F00
Word Read from $103C6B7

I have NoCache and PreLoad set in the icon info. I've also tried NoVBRMove, etc. My install appears to be by someone called Mr Larmer sometime in 1999.

Anyone have a pre-install of this game that actually works? This game was one of the main reasons I installed WHDLoad...I remember this game as a kid and loved it!

It was one of the VERY FEW early 3D games that actually played well!

I'll have a look for you and if I have it I'll put it in the zone. Have you tried switching preload off? If I've had problems sometimes switching it off will fix it.

EDIT: I've read the readme and it asks that DIC be installed in C: and you need 0.5mb of fastram for it to work. I'll upload the version I have in the zone for you.

Thanks for the upload Adgloride. Tried your install and I get the exact same results, so it's probably not the install that's the problem. I checked and I do have DIC in C: so it's not that. I've also tried many different combinations of settings, including switching off PreLoad. Dissapointing

If anyone knows how I can get this one going pls post. Also be interested to know if anyone else is having troubles playing it, or if it's just my setup :P

Aaaaalsoo...are there any known Amiga configs and non-WhdLoad apps that can cause problems with WHDLoad?? I have a few system hacks in place, such as: FBlit, WBCtrl, StackAttack, etc. These are all pretty "standard" hacks that everyone uses...but can these conflict with WHDLoad on my Blizzard 060 Amiga?

I have the Blizzard 060 on my amiga with 32mb of ram and it works for me. It may just be one of those games that won't work, I have a few WHDLOAD games that refuse to work on OS 3.9.

I have no problem getting any WHDLOAD games to work on OS 3.9. The handful of games I've had problems with I had the same problems on Workbench 3.1.

I know it is an old post but in case anyone else runs into this issue...

I had the same problem but finally got worked with the following Tool types:
SLAVE=RoboCop3.Slave
PRELOAD
PreloadSize=2727514
NoMmu

My config: AOS 3.1.4.1; A4k 112MB+A3660 68060r6@66
